Gorilla youngster Ajabu Mischievous Moments with 51 year old Kamba

Gorilla youngster Ajabu is trying to play with Gorilla Kamba (51). They remind me of Gorilla Shufai and Biddy. Membership now available: 🎞️youtube.com/@SloggerVlogger/join
Biddy is a year younger. Kamba was on the log, and Ajabu was trying to grab her foot. When the youngster takes a little break, Kamba quickly climbs down.
A little bit later, she sat on top of a log again, and Ajabu took the opportunity to play and be silly. Biting the rope, swinging. Kamba holds on to him while he's slapping her. Not quite sure what Kamba is doing there lol.
At a later time, Kamba was sitting at the back of the rock when Ajabu approached her, but this time she was fed up and chased after him. Yep, exactly like Shufai and Biddy.

Oh at one stage it was so sweet of her to cuddle him though, ☺️ it seemed she was trying to soothe him, but eventually he got on her last nerve and gave a couple of runs at him before slinking away from Lope 🫣oh I mean Ajabu. 😁

I think she loves him and was trying to cuddle him as she actually looked relaxed and kind of sleepy but after a while it was too much for her with his active playing and she had enough! LOL! Great video! And yes it does remind me of Shufai and Biddy as well. Thanks Slogger Vlogger! 😀❤

Sadly she lost three of her own children. I'm not sure what happened. I think they were still borns and this is her 6th zoo she has been to. It's good to see her this playful with Ajabu and having someone in her corner when things get tougher for her.

Its so heartbreaking that none of her babies lived. Beloved Kamba would have been a marvelous mother. She is everyone's favorite auntie. I could be mistaken, but I believe that she also nursed one of Kijivu's children. It might have just been intermittently and for comfort. Aja is such an adorable pest! 💕

Some more info about Kamba. It looks like it was written before they opened the new Gorilla Pavilion. This is the text they translated on the Prague's zoo website "She was born in 1972 in Cameroonian virgin forests and when she was about two years old, her parents were killed by poachers. Subsequently she lived in several zoological gardens, but for decades, she was not lucky to find a functional gorilla family. She came to Prague for the first time in the summer of 2001, but the year after she experienced the flood here, and she returned here only in the autumn of 2005. And only then her life got changed. She perfectly fitted into Richard’s family and became a loving „aunty“ for local babies: at first for Moji and later for all male gorilla’s babies. In 2007, she was even expecting her own baby, but unfortunately, it did not survived the delivery and Kamba barely survived herself. A similar situation repeated in 2013, when even a top medical team could not save her baby. Moreover, as if all that was not enough, last week she started experiencing stomach aches, that was indicating serious health issues. The zookeepers lowered the blinds in the preparation room, but I was feeling that the gorillas behind them were still stuck to the window. When the veterinarian came, it seemed like Kamba knew what was going on. She was not running away and allowed to anesthetize her. An examination was following and then surgery, during which her uterus and ovaries were removed." Signed Miroslav Bobek Director of Prague Zoo. Poor Kamba. She went through quite a few tragedies in her life.
