Cavaco Troika Yeeeeeah, The Fall in my mind is the one album that's just... there. It doesn't advance the story, it's very simple musically. It's good, it's just not Gorillaz/ Demon Days/ Plastic Beach good. Of course it was never meant to be either.

Cavaco Troika Oh no, I know that and I agree! Albairn is IMO one of the most amazing musicians of our time and his willingness to experiment with everything he can get his hands on is admirable. I definitely appreciate The Fall, but still, it's kind of a side thing for the Gorillaz project, an experiment that he couldn't really fit anywhere else.

The rap in this song is sooo sick, and then the transition back to the main beat...that's nuts. Goes from danceable to war-torn and hectic, where the war-torn beat represents a harsh reality and the danceable beat a utopia free from concern...looove it

Personally, I always thought "Demon Days" was a kind of snapshot of 2005; themes like war, indifference and greed permeate the album. Even the beats seem corrupted and filled with a hazy self-loathing. Instead of being about celebrating and having a good time, the album seems more about doing drugs and dancing like you hope tomorrow never comes. It's more "There's A Riot Goin' On" and less "Homework," if you know what I mean (no offense to Sly & The Family Stone or Daft Punk).

It's interesting to see that a majority of Gorillaz fans don't really care about the themes of anti-war, depression and other problems of the world that their music is about. They only care about the story of a bunch of anime characters with catchy pop songs in the background. Going through the comments most of them don't even like rap lmao.

The rap that Bootie laid out is really the context of the song and without it would just be another dance track with little to no meaning or sense. I know everyone seems to think that rapping requires less vocal talent than singing, but it really doesn't and the Raps always have to do with the song it's like these people have never paid attention to the rap lyrics in Clint Eastwood just because they never gave the segments in the song a chance and all of that applies to this song as well as other gorillaz songs

I just said its cool...you shouldnt feel offended man. Also it doesnt make sense to respond in such a way like you do. I mean...do you change something with your ahtred against weed smokers? Do you think people will stop such kind of comments? The only thing you do is harming yourself by getting angry. It is like with gay marriage: If you are not affected with the changes, just dont give a fuck.
