I think people don't realize how revolutionary Gorillaz are. They are the first (probably the only so far) animated band to achieve mainstream and commercial success. Not to mention their unique twist on alternative and experimental music

TheGrandRevo Vocaloids never achieved the amount of success as Gorillaz. In fact the vocaloid software only sold well in Japan. Western audiences weren't too big on the software. Also, Vocaloid is software meaning anyone can purchase and use it, even amateurs. Anyone can be a vocaloid. Gorillaz is composed of and collaborated with many professional and big names in the music industry. Don't get me wrong Vocaloid and Hatsune Miku are great, but no virtual/animated band has amounted to Gorillaz' success (platinum albums, high charted songs, and numerous awards.)

Um Studio Killers? Also, It's amazing how many times I have to say this, Vocaloid is a SOFTWARE it's NOT a BAND. To average person, there's probably just Miku and company but there's hundreds of Vocaloids and PRODUCERS use the software to make music. Also, from what I know, there are multiple copies that are sold in the west, it just isn't as mainstream as the Gorillaz were/are.

I also think that the Brit Awards are better than the Grammy´s. And in its format you can make a comparison between the Grammy Awards and the Brit Awards. The difference that makes the Brit Awards more exiting is that they give some of the awards to creative musicians (like the awards that Lorde, Kendrick Lamar, Foo Fighters and in this case Gorillaz for example were given in this years award show). The Grammy Awards today dont give credit to different genres of music enough. As Rock and Pop-music often are too mainstreamed and boring for my taste in music. And its all a popularity contest at the Grammy Awards the last couple of years. The Grammy Awards gives the awards to those musicians who writes and sings the hit songs, but its not really a tastement to good music, but the mainstream music instead. Which is often very genetic and not that creative. Which is not a good thing in my book. The really good music is often not the most popular sales wise, because great music in my opinion is often more creative and wired sometimes in its structure. And they need to give the awards to acts that are creative and makes music that brings something new to the table. :)

They were huge back in the 90's and their songs are still in ads and whatnot because alot of their songs are classics and nowhere near underrated.

MADISON BABY Gorillaz aren't underrated but they aren't mainstream (especially here in America) either. Also, Gorillaz won a Grammy in 2006 for Best Pop Collaboration with Vocals. Damon has also won tons of other awards as part of Blur and Gorillaz. He's fine.
