well, they're not interacting directly with the gorillaz characters, they're simply adding them in and rotoscoping elements into each shot. In Who framed Roger Rabbit the actors had to talk, touch and in general interact with the toons, which is a totally different process. the production of Who Framed Roger Rabbit was a horrible process, as no one on set really knew how it would look in the end, everyone simply pretending whats there. rotoscoping is adding drawn elements on top of allready shot footage without the actors in the scene expecting anything to be added. Despite in this video/series above the Gorillaz characters are made to fit into the scene, they'r enot directly involved with the real people. the problem with "acting with" cartoon characters is finidning the balance between acting naturally but also not over acting, as cartoon characters usually oversaturate everything. Which is part of the metajoke in Roger Rabbit.

It's all about Damon Albarn. Gorillaz are......Albarn. Jamie is in charge of animation but Damon is the ONLY constant in every Gorillaz song. Follow Albarn's other major works & you cannot go wrong.
