Can we talk about how like weirdly nostalgic this style of gorillaz is, i didnt know about them til last year but seeing this era of art is so early 2000’s that it brings me back to that time

It's easy to think that, but it can't be true since Noodle's English never becomes fluent like that somehow, she should be fluent by now but she still isn't. How old was Noodle when she was taken in? 12 or something? Living with the rest of the crew should not have only improved her English but made her fluent in it as well.

One thing I really like about this video is that it captures the feel of the 2000’s. The cityscape’s streets and light really captures a familiar but run-down feel that is weirdly intimate. The art style of the characters is bold but mellow, making them seem part of the environment. The music is very calm and serene, kind of like a summers night, sitting on a bench in the park, or the porch of your home. I wish this is the kind of feel that music and media in general can make, but I guess that’s me being nostalgic.

This video was mostly filmed around Soho, in London. Here's some places I've found in it. 1:44 is La Reash, which closed down some years back, and is now Wan's Tea Room at 23 Greek Street, Soho, Greater London 1:51 is Vauxhall Bridge, with St. Paul's Cathedral in the back 1:56 is the Thames viewed from Waterloo Bridge. The bridge you can see in the foreground is Hungerford and Golden Jubilee Bridge. The London Eye is visible on the left, to the right, the Ministry of Defense building, and in the center, just barely visible through 2D, is Parliament. 1:57 is Waterloo Bridge again, this time with St. Paul's and Horizon 22 in the background. 2:06 is The Lyric, in Soho, a club at 17 Great Windmill St., where there is curiously no Great Windmill to be seen 2:10 is Ronnie Scott's, just up the road at 39 Great Windmill St. Still no windmill to be seen! 2:20 is 24 Brewer Street, also in Soho . t's now a Chilango. 2:46 is Piccadilly Circus. This whole segment is filmed in the general area, but is near impossible to find exactly. 2:52 99% sure that's St. Paul's again. That was fun!

@@JacKanapie On second thought, why not go into even more excruciating detail about the setting honestly sounds fun. The lack of a "Great Windmill" is actually because it was built sometime before 1585, and was surveyed in the 1650s as being... Well... Great. It was demolished sometime in the 1690s to make way for the rapid development, which shows both sides of the street completely covered by 1682. More impressive considering (one of) the great fires was not 20 years before.

This song has so many emotions, mindsets, and feelings in it; 2000s/early 2010s nostalgia, in the zone, deep feelings, depression, driving your car at night alone, driving to work, the city, etc. The effect that this song has on you really depends on what part(s) of your life you associate it with. In general, songs like this one bring out the good, the sad, and the awe of our past, how it’s unfortunately gone, and how we as people have to face the future as tomorrow comes today.

Maybe only older folks will remember there's a very spooky demon face for a single frame at 1:34 There were a lot of conspiracies about this, especially considering how strange and esoteric the Gorillaz virtual Kong Studio website was like, real fans should know that you could find the demon picture and some other very interesting things on the computer in the boiler room. Coupled with the countdown and Hell hole at the bottom of Kong Studios The Gorillaz were very spooky.

It's been an amazing ride for sure. I didn't even like Clint Eastwood at first, luckily MTV played it to death so it grew on me fast. It's always fun when new material comes out. The waiting isn't fun though and sometimes it's been very frustrating, but when a new video or song finally drops... Well, it's still as enjoyable as it was in 2001 :) The first album's art style is still my favorite, and Tomorrow Comes Today is their best song even though many have challenged it.
