Gorky's are my favorite Welsh rock band of any kind and the best in my opinion. If I were a neo-psychedelic rocker right now, they'd definitely be one of my major influences. Among the most exciting musical acts I've ever had the pleasure of taking my chances on hearing and experiencing for myself.

I met up with John Lawrence on Saturday as he was the sound man for my band's gig in Bethesda, North Wales. He is happy and well and making some fab music of his own.

Title of the song "Girls doing each other's hairs"
@lsathomas14 жыл бұрын
Well girls are doing each other's hair through the night, hearing the song but playing on. Girls are doing each other's hair through the night, your skin like the moon makes me feel cold. Sounds better in Welsh!

nobody knows this song..i actually met the band in dublin and quizzed some of the players but not the lead singer about it...i even sang it to them as best i could remember...after fighting off a violent attempt to have me join the band they sheepishly confessed they'd never heard of it...one guy said it might've been an early non-release...is the song available in any form? gudbee

I think it was just a half hour programme on S4C. I couldn't get over my luck when I taped it. I think it's time it was released on DVD though.

Always knew of them, but never actually gave them a listen until, literally... Now! 🤔 🤦🏻♂️ 😬 😐 😑 🤷🏻♂️ What a twat I was! I would've been 15/16 at the time when they were doing the tour circuit in the mid-1990s, and I hate to admit this, but their name didn't do them any favours (for me personally!), seeing that I couldn't pronounce their name I therefore overlooked them totally (& idiotically)! And just didn't listen to them and give them a chance. (Yes, I know... They're fucking amazing! I WAS a total dick!) Absolutely adore them now though... Rightfully so! 🤔 😁 ✌🏼😉👍🏼 🎼 🎵🎻🎶🎹🎵🎸 🤘🏼😘👌🏼 🎼 🎶🎤🎵🎛🎶🎚🎵 🤗😍😊😘👌🏼

GZM was so enormously talented. Even in their youth they had killer tunes. This is an effortless display of the kind of music "The New Pornographers" would be doing years later.

@sassythesasquatch97368 жыл бұрын
thimacek "neud" means 'to do' or 'doing', so it means "Girls are doing each other's hair all night". Nôs is 'night'.
