I filmed this a while back, during the same session as filming my video Two Pence Shy (check it out on my channel if you haven't already!).
I always liked playing this song and Townes van Zandt; what an incredible artist!
If you don't know him it's worth checking out his catalogue.
Now, as I'm officially back in the world of KZbin, I thought it was time to finally upload this video!

I love these intros -I've never seen anyone else do this. It's so cool and shows off what a lovely person you are. I'm so happy, for us and for you, that you decided to start releasing music again. I know you feel all squingey about promoting yourself, but I think you'll find that it's not so bad once you get used to it AND that you have us to do a lot of the promotion for you. One suggestion is to post an announcement reel of you playing the song or a quick clip from the video itself on IG. This gives us something we can promote that has the actual new music included. I get a lot more likes on my stories that include music than one that's just a picture, and that makes me think that people who don't already know you would be more likely to check out the YT video if they get a taste of the music. Looking forward to this premier and now also trying to think of a good cover suggestion. 🐒🎸💙

I usually only promote YT once the video is already out, because I don't have a good reel to create my story from until they post one. Romain normally does his after the song is already posted. It would be good if we could drive people to the premiers so they could see how much fun the communities are. Gorrangutans don your thinking caps for how we can convert those IG #s to YT views.

Cover suggestion: The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald by Gordon Lightfoot. The song itself is relatively easy, but the lyrics are deep and based on an historic shipwreck on Lake Huron in the US. Can't wait to hear this new tune!

I feel you on the travelling/searching thing. Searching for what, I do not know. Anyway, I've been enjoying your busking sessions. The energy you put into them radiates out--very uplifting. Regarding suggestions, your music reminds me a lot of Austin music. (I'm not from there, I just got really into it a while back.) There are so many incredible performers there it's almost impossible to choose, but here are four songs of varied styles I was reminded of that I think would be fun to perform, depending on your mood/repertoire/etc: 1. Beat Root Revival - Instincts. (Loop pedal fun at the beginning! In case it doesn't work so well without the harmony, their cover/arrangement of Dreams is also exceptional.) 2. Loose Diamonds - Last Ones. (I have no idea what half the lyrics are, but the intensity is moving!) 3. Walter Tragert - Tagalong. (Really sweet tune, seems to be calling out for each performer to add their own verses.) 4. Slaid Cleaves - Below. (Difficult to pick just one of his...) I could go on for ages with Austin music suggestions, but I'll cut it off there. Cheers if you get to learning any of them! I was just glad to take a little stroll down memory lane. And cheers in any case for the beautiful music!!
