I think Evergoods is way ahead of everything. Next level in all aspects.

@dannypacks - Another excellent review! Both packs are fantastic, and it can be challenging to decide which one is the best fit for individual needs. We are lucky to have so many exceptional bag makers and options available, not just limited to Evergoods and Goruck. Thank you for the dedication you put into creating these informative and enjoyable videos.

Thanks for this video Danny. I tossed up between these two bags for a while and ended up going with a GR1 which I'll have in my hands soon. The Griffin 2 collab announcement was released the day after I bought the GR1 and I got curious about the new CB22 bag from Evergoods. Felt like I missed out briefly, but from this video, it seems like I will prefer the extra flexibility and less boxy presentation of the GR1.

Thank you for watching and I’m glad the video was helpful! The gr1 is always a good choice, I will hopefully be checking out the CB22 soon but based on the videos if I had to pick one I’d still likely go with the gr1

The CTB 26L is a great bag that’s a bit bigger of an EDC and a great weekend bag if you are interested!

The brown buffalo 21 slappin both of these. Love the vid danny, i like these side by side shots. If i had known, i would have sent you the axiom s2 in canvas to do all 3 side by side.

Thank you for watching and good callout on the brown buffalo! That’s still on my wishlist of bags to try out, the axiom in waxed canvas would also be a cool alternative to these!

Really good comparison! Interesting that the Gr1 has more space in the main compartment even though the CPL is rated to be larger. It’s all that extra pocket volume I guess. I recently ended up choosing the GR1 because I was able to try it on at a brick and mortar store. I’m in Canada and didn’t want to chance the Evergoods bag not fitting properly. Got it in black with the QA pocket. It’s an amazing bag!🍻

Don’t even have to watch the video to know I had to hit that “like” button! Love the CPL24 and have a tan Griffin on the way (also scored from Carryology Classified). Also recently got the Heritage 21L and absolutely love the bag.

Great comparison. Especially liked it when you exchange the content of each bag with each other. Shows how the “official “ liter capacity numbers are not exactly what you can pack.

I have a CPL24, very nice bag, sad that the comfort is not top notch for me, like you said and read elsewhere as well, the lower back part of the CPL is hurting me. A water bottle is missing on both bags but they are looking fantastic in wax canvas.

May I ask how are these bags compared to the Bolt?
@dannypacks2 ай бұрын
Thank you for watching and good question! Quality wise I would say they are all pretty on par, really solid feeling overall. The layouts do feel pretty different since the bolt is a top loader and some additional pocketing so it will come down to packing style and preferences. It is nice that the bolt has the two side pockets that can hold a water bottle as well as a more breathable harness and a luggage pass through

The CPL 24 is definitely the better bag, regardless of the materials used. I have it in the X-Pac X42 OD green, so comfortable to use and the back and inner shoulder straps breathe well, making it a real joy to use. The CPL16 the same, which is my go to for my EDC bag. My favorite material for the GORUCK is the Dyneema, I have the bullet in that material and it is an awesome and light bag to use that holds its shape so well. Strictly from a design perspective, I find the GR1 to be a very lazy design, too simple, lacking features overall. It could and should be so much better at its price point!

What's your take on what Chuyen Tactical in Vietnam is doing with the GoRuck-style bag design for a fraction of the price?
@HisGraceHisGlory2 ай бұрын
@@Ellman1231 I am familiar with CT, but I have never owned any of their gear. CT bags do get great reviews. I can say that some of my best bags were manufactured in Vietnam, absolutely first-rate in quality.
@RMW19822 ай бұрын
I own multiple versions of both bags. The CPL24 is indeed a great bag. But, in terms of features the GR1 is extremely similar with a different implementation: separate laptop compartment, front pocket, internal storage, QAP, etc. The GR1 is also made in the USA, is customizable via SCARS, and has the best warranty in the business. They are both great bags and end game for many people.
@SkipHarper2 ай бұрын
@@Ellman1231 I’ve got several C Tactical packs and can tell you from experience that they are well made, comfortable harness system, fraction of the price and have several things Goruck doesn’t include- hi vis interior, organization in front pocket, mesh water bottle pockets on the interior and I believe they pushed Goruck to add the quick access pocket as they have done a great job with theirs.
@HisGraceHisGlory2 ай бұрын
@@RMW1982 Yep, perspectives vary, I have many GORUCK bags and more pouches than I have need for. As a member of this great republic for the last 63 years, I am all for products made here in our country in order to help sustain us as a nation. But, you will never convince me that their bags are not very expensive for what you you are getting. One exception being the Bullet 18L DC, that is an outstanding value for what you are getting in that bag and I love that bag. I am not one that is thrilled to pay premium prices then to have turn around and send the bag in (at great cost with SCARS) to have it customized with what it should have come with in the first place. Ya, I am talking PALS webbing on the shoulder straps and a sternum strap that you should not have to pay extra for just as one example, that's my perspective. But, again, opinions vary.
