l have this fire and love it. l think you should have demonstrated the inside where the water container is and filled with only bottled water. Also where the bulbs are located? how the heater works? How the remote works. How the glass needs cleaning regular inside. ect ect....

Yes Diane I agree hunnie I clean my glass every single time I use it as there is a kind of misty look that appears on the glass from the steam it always looks stunning after a nice wipe with windowlene also the condensation can be prevented from turning down the flame so it's not so full and the condensation then stops !! not to mention the flame looks more realistic on the lower setting anyway as for using filtered water its a must for hard water areas and stops the transducer from clogging up

This fire 🔥 has cost me a fortune the transducer first and the whole internal element which clicks to start the flame 🔥!! It’s a very expensive fire and parts are expensive too I will never buy an opt- mist again as I am convinced the moisture and steam affects the elements and they don’t last long I have gone back to opti- flame 🔥 just replace the bulbs

My flames stopped working after 12 months...such a shame as a lovely image when working. Also took FOUR replacement log effects as they all arrived badly packed and broken.

I have this stunning fire and the steam/condensation can be sorted by decreasing the flame affects to the lower setting hense it looks more realistic on the lower settings anyway!! Also you use filtered water because of some hard water areas and stops the transducer from clogging up

It's a glorified fan heater. Mega expensive to run as a heat source (2kw), only good for the flame effect only.

What an uneducated chump! It may be 2kw on full, but as electric is currently the same cost pro-rata as gas, this is actually cheaper to run, as gas wastes heat through the chimney and isn't thermostatically controlled, so the electric option will switch itself off when the pre-set heat is achieved, whereas the gas won't. Also, electric is massively safer than gas, can be fitted anywhere as it doesn't need a flu and this particular model is remote control. On top of that, you can have the ambiance of burning logs and smoke, without burning any fuel. Can you do that with either gas or a log burner?

I only use infra red electric heaters instead of fan heaters now. They’re much cheaper to run and are liquid heat so don’t dry the air out. Very difficult to find any but keep looking as the are availbe.

Hi Sue, with all electric fires there are always power concerns. I find when using this it warms the room really quickly and provided you don't keep opening and closing doors to the room it is in you can warm the room then turn the fire off but leave the effect on to give you a nice view. My living room is 13ft by 10ft. As its a modern fire it's not as bad as the old ones and it does have 2 heat settings aswell as off and on. I hope this helps you.

The filtered water is to prevent Limescale on the water mister. Just use tap water and a water filter jug

I think so. However I've never had a real wood burner so I don't really have anything to compare it to.
