I like these videos, they’ve helped me get interested in falconry and as soon and the books arrive I’m going to start reading up on how to train my very own hawk.

If this person tied those crows feet and tossed them out to be killed then he deserves whatever awful thing that karma has planned for him. Humans are the absolute worst sometimes and people like this have no soul whatsoever!

Hi for the crow hawking do you use male or female gohawks? I just wondered if the females are not as quick on the turn. Great videos by the way
@zacharybrown51218 жыл бұрын
well goshawks are fast. but the males being slightly smaller are more agile and faster. crows are formidable opponents so its better to use female goshawks.

It is sad to see all those misinformed comments about falconry. On another note I see however the Goshawk trying to steal food from the fist, which is a very wrong sign to be taken action upon immediately.
@Sinsteel6 жыл бұрын
Yeah right, because falconry just means killing what you want, when you want, and not having anyone criticise you?

Damn, your crows are huge. They're the size of our American Ravens. Our crows are tiny, maybe 16 ozs. Aren't you afraid that the crow will use its giant beak and feet to hurt your Goshawk?

Despite their often poor reputation, Crows are highly intelligent birds and provide much in the way of pest control in agricultural areas (I.e they can consume a wide variety and number of pest insects) and so are valuable to have around agricultural areas. It’s unfortunate to see them being totally ambushed like this for some kind of twisted pleasure. They really have no chance for escape when the hawk is let out of the car and the crows are out in the middle of the field with no tree cover only a hundred feet or so away. So many intelligent crows killed for what? This is not a wild goshawk killing for their survival. This is a once wild bird being used to kill for the desires of its human owner. A magnificent bird being used by man in the killing of another magnificent bird for human entertainment. Very sad.
@doncalvito114 жыл бұрын
You probably don't know that crows are killing every other small bird species .. Just look around .. All you see are mug pies and crows as they eat from the nest of everything else
@hervedelnorte79284 жыл бұрын
don calvito As a biologist I am very familiar with crow biology. They are an omnivore that feed on a wide variety of plant and animal foods. Yes, they will feed on eggs and young of other birds but that is not all they eat. Nor should that make them some sort of ‘bad’ species, only suited to be killed. We should not judge other species based on what they eat. To do this imposes our ‘values’ on the lifestyles of other species. More often, crows provide valuable control of many pest insects that farmers can actually benefit from.
@______-xh4pn2 жыл бұрын
@@doncalvito11 Actually, crows protect A LOT of smaller bird species from raptors such as hawks. They are the first to sound the alarm on a raptor in the area, which most birds recognize, and then have time to hide.

What a world ! Artificially killed just for the pleasure. Do you know there is real love story in a couple of crows ? Do you how much tenderness exists in each other ? Our cultur is a denial of the relationship's complexity. And in nature, Goshawk shows weak preys, like youngs, sufferers or old individus. Our cultur is a the cultur of the death.. for the death.

How did I come across this when looking at documentaries on crows on KZbin on how interesting and intelligent they are. Poor crows they are only hungry don’t train you hawk to kill for the sake of it. I know the hawk needs a meal but not without any warnings of danger. of them and why do you hold the crows down so the hawk kills it?Crows can be your best friends. You obviously don’t like nature.

Why is this wrong? It is the most natural spectacle within all fieldsports and does a commendable service to both landowners and of course the song bird population."If you think this is wrong, just go and witness young songbirds, ground nesting birds and many others plundered from their nests.

you're thinking of ravens. i've never heard or seen a crow do that. ravens are much bigger with larger beaks which would make gouging an eyeball a lot easier. www.reporterherald.com/ci_19770482
