Under Heinrich III. he considered to declare Goslar as a permanent capitol of the "Holy Romanic Empire of German Nation". His death prevented his plans... In the 11th. century Goslar had 20.000 residents and was one of the biggest and wealthiest cities in middle europe. Goslar later was one of the cities, which founded the "Hanse", a medieval connection of powerful traders. There are more documentations on YT in german Language about Goslar from the 1950 and early 1960 years. The world famous Family of Siemens had their origins here in Goslar.
