I just truly love Myrna Summers, she was my favorite gospel artist along with Mattie Moss Clark. I was always given Myrna Summers songs when i use to sing in the choir. Gospel then had such an annointing very heartfelt and soul winning. Today it's too contemporary. It's all about "The fortune & fame". I only listen to the Back in the Day gospel, such as Myrna Summers, Institutional Radio Choir, Gospel Exposition. Benny Cummings and the Kings Temple Choir etc. These songs were awesome!

Beautiful interview! I'm 63 and was able to go to one of her concerts at Refreshing Springs COGIC when I was 19yrs old. She is so blessed and beautiful. I still have the 2 photos that she allowed me to take of her. I like how she broke down "Contemporary ". God bless you sir and God bless Evangelist Summers!❤

Love ,love love this woman, I am 68 years old and I came out of the era where it was common for us youth choirs to go around singing the gospel. I will always remember “uncloudy Day, and nobody sang it like Myrna. I still to this day include it in my time with God. It makes me think about the soon coming heaven.

Wow! I remember Uncloudy Day playing on the radio but I had no idea that my family would relocate to Washington D.C. and the Maryland area. Of all the COGIC churches we could’ve attended, we joined Refreshing Springs. At that time, Elder Headen was Pastor. Our first Sunday there, Myrna Summers and the Women’s Choir blew off the roof. It was like seeing your favorite artist at your own church. Very soon afterwards, Myrna Summers relocated to Bountiful Blessings. She did a live recording at the RS. My Mother loves Myrna Summers music. Mighty woman of God. Much respect!

I remember seeing her singing at my cousin’s husband’s Funeral at a church in a suburb of Baltimore Md. I didn’t recognize her at first. But I recognized the voice. It wasn’t a large funeral. So I was somewhat surprised to see her there.
