Personally, I love comedy but I also love God. I have a thing about mixing jokes with God. Call me "old school" or conservative but I just don't think it's cool to make jokes concerning the Lord and then turn right around and say you love and honor him. God is sacred and divine and not to be mocked, toyed or played with.

The difference between Lakewood and my church is my church preaches the TRUTH, Heaven and Hell etc... Dont get me wrong we should leave our church better than when we walked in. Jesus was not happy the entire time he walked on Earth. I believe it's a lie to think that we can continually be happy. As a Christian we go through things so that we can help someone who goes through the same thing. I'm not saying be downtrodden. I'm just saying my walk with and relationship with God hasn't been without tears and moaning. I'm not a prude and I love Christian comedy.

Agreed! Instead of calling it "Modern Christianity", though, just call it "Modern Religion". There's a difference. Even "Modern Christianity" will still tell you the truth about God's Word. "Modern Religion", though, will allow this kind of nonsense and pragmatism, to go on in what USED to be the House of God! Agreed! Joel Osteen's so-called "Gospel" is what many people would call a "CHEAP SUBSTITUTE" for the Word of God! When I was young, the Preachers were telling us what God's Word says about Sin, Hell, God's Judgement against sin, Holy Living, and total separation from the World's evil doings. Preaching against sin used to be sacred and serious. Now-We have to put up with... this. Some dude comes in, tells us that we should visit a "Church", that we KNOW preaches New Age/False Doctrine! When you hear that kind of talk from someone who's supposed to be a "Brother in Christ", then you KNOW that he ain't what he says he is! The Bible tells us to Mark those who cause division (In the Church), and to AVOID them! Sadly, too many "Preachers" have let these Wolves into their "Churches"... only to have that blasted WOLF destroy their flock! We are told, through God's Word, The Bible:That day (The Second Coming of the Lord), cannot come, except there be a great falling away. We're seeing the most blatant, and the most pronounced, falling away, that we've ever seen, in this day and age. I don't think that it'll be much longer, until Jesus Christ comes again.
