I grew up listening to this show too. Totally loved it partially cause my granny loved it so much BUT no one understands what Jubilee music is anymore. It is distinct from southern gospel. I call it toe tappin gospel--with a happy piano.

I go back to the days of the Blue Ridge, Prophets, and others in the 60's. It was so cool to see the people I knew personally on national T.V. As a kid I once got to ride on the Blue Ridge Quartet's bus. My teenage daughter and I were just looking at all the records I have and have decided it's time to set up the turntable and hook it into the stereo system. This brings back so many memories. Thank you.

5 or six years old...watching this on early Sunday mornings on a t.v. I had to "pull the knob" to turn on. I have always remembered that scene when The Florida Boys step up on the stage singing "Jubilee....Jubilee....you're invited to this happy jubilee..." I didn't watch the whole show back then....didn't care to. But...that opening has resonated with me for decades. It gave me...and still gives me...that good feeling of "wholesomeness." So very glad this program was a part of so many lives.

YOU AND ME BOTH. Only, I thought they were singing, "You're invited to this country, jubilee." It may just have been a mondegreen, but I know they would have approved of what I thought they were saying -- a sort of pious prayer for the nation.
