I bought the Glockstore Tungsten guide rod for my Glock 43 about a month ago. I started getting multiple misfires. Five misfires in ten Glock factory magazines. This is my personal defense gun so constant misfires are a problem. I live right down the road from the Glock factory in Smyrna, Georgia, so I took it to the factory and asked what the problem was. I was told that the Glockstore guide rod was causing the misfires. He also said it might be causing damage to the internal parts of my gun too (I'm not sure about that but that's what the Glock guy told me). The Glock factory replaced by guide rod with a factory guide rod. After putting in the factory guide rod, the gun has fired perfectly ever since. I sent Lenny an email asking him to double check to make sure the guide rods he is selling are not causing misfires. I've not heard anything back. I called them because I returned the guide rod to Glockstore for a refund but the refund was late (due yesterday according to eBay) and the Glockstore guy on the phone said they were "aware of the issue." This conversation was today. I love Lenny and his videos but I thought this was worth mentioning.

I only upgrade or swap parts for looks. Never anything that affects the run ability of my fire arms. I used to always UPGRADE any and everything i could… but after 30 years or playing with guns. I have learned most of the time the factory has got it right. But hey… i still shop around lol.

I've tried both the Pearce +1 mag extension and the Vickers +1 mag extension on my G43. I had terrible feeding problems with both of them. It was all I could do to put the original base plates back on. After that, it worked perfectly. 😮

The way this guy up sales the tungsten guide rod is complete snake oil. I shoot a lot of Glocks and a lot of rounds. I know the feel of the recoil down to the T and tried both the stainless steel and tungsten guide rods. They do absolutely nothing. If it helps the muzzle rise it's more in the realm of a < 1% improvement. Save all these mods for your range gun not your daily ccw.

Lenny, My Glock 43 doesn’t have a gen4 stamp, but no other gen stamp either. Are Glock 43 Gen4 or Gen5? I would consider a Glock 43 “"Gen 4.5” as they have many Gen 4 and 5 characteristics like non rotating firing pin safety, coil spring slide lock, coil spring slide stop, and unique trigger spring assembly.... I'm thinking that, The G43 single stacks "do not" share design features with any of the regular Glocks therefore It might be considered a Gen 1 as it is single stack and completely different from all the other Glock platforms. But, I do not think Glock has given it an official Gen title yet. any thoughts?

If you notice, when he first pulls the stock trigger, he puts the weight bar further up on the trigger, shortening the torque moment applied to the trigger. Then when he adds the extra weight he applies the weight bar to the very tip of the trigger, lengthening the torque moment. Of course it’s gonna break easier that way. This video encouraged me to choose Taran Tactical and other companies instead.

Tom Russ Buying a glock and getting 12$ extended base plates, $10 talon grips, and 50-70$ night sights is still cheaper than a sig and for concealed carry sigs are a lot bulkier pistols. Love sigs in there own lane but that's just the truth. Now when it comes to all of these "titanium guide rods" and trigger systems and bullshit machined slides ect, that's where they lost me and will never get my money for that crap. You're telling me a 9mm has to much recoil or that the g43 is to heavy and needs lightened up?? lol The sights and grip are understandable but anything else on a glock doesn't NEED to be replaced. Period. Unless you go threaded barrel for suppresor use.

GS or not, I would not add a pinkie extension with out trying your carry ammo at the range. I had no problem with the last 100 rounds or so of ball ammo from a couple of manufacturers. Then I loaded a mag with my carry ammo, Fed HST. None would feed with a Pierce +1 extension. None. I see after market springs are now being sold to boost the force of the mag spring to account for extensions. Maybe I will try this but have gone back to the factory floor plates on all of my G43 mags. And yes I also carry a G19 so there is a reason why and when I carry a G43.

I'd personally not buy the tungsten guide rod. I've read they made the gun unreliable. I agree that the stock trigger saftey is a little sharp and trigger bite is a common thing when shooting this gun.
@israelmoran142

This is ridiculous. The two things I changed on my G43 are Truglo night sights and added pierce grip +1 baseplates to the magazines. As far as the trigger weight vs shoot ability, I shoot it very accurately at 15 yards and can make 25 yard hits though a little scattered. Highly doubt a lighter trigger will make me into a better shooter.

Your trigger pull test is done incorrectly. Your placement of the trigger weight on the trigger will affect the outcome of the result. Similar to a seesaw, the closer to the firing pin (or middle of the seesaw) the more weight you will have to apply to pull the trigger. An example of obtaining a lighter and smoother trigger pull is to sweep the bottom of the trigger guard as you compress the trigger. For the record, the Glock 43 factory trigger is between 3.5 and 4.5 pounds pull.

The problem is once you start replacing the parts on any Glock like the trigger the barrel the Glock will not cover the gun with their warranty the recurl spring is the same issue I know people who replace them something went wrong with their gun they sent it to Glock and Glock told them they have to use the original spring that came with the Glock otherwise the warranty won't be covered anymore so I read some comments and people suggest leave the Glock the way it is out of the box the spring that comes with it it's good for 5,000 shots so you save your money and be smart 🇦🇹💯👍

Gary Lytle Great conceal carry pistol. Love mine. If you can get past the 6+1 part or just get a strike industries +2 base plate to make it 8+1 and it fits your hand so much better. Or a holster with a added mag slot and get good at fast reloads. It's a perfect choice. The Glock 26 is a good choice to and is 10+1 out of the box but is thicker and I personally like the thinner g43 for concealed carry but you're best off checking both out and deciding for yourself which you like best. It amazes me that "THE" handgun touted as "Perfection" has more aftermarket and upgraded replacement parts than any other handgun out there! Replace the trigger, replace the barrel, replace the recoil spring and guide rod, replace the sights, mod the grip.... $550(?) new out the door.... and another $300(?) in aftermarket.... Perfection? I do not think that word means what you think it means!

Customer service is horrible, they never respond to e-mail inquiries about an order, and always seem to be out of stock on items the website shows are in stock. SUPER easy to smooth out sharp edges on polymer. Based on his manicure, his fingers are probably sensitive. I had a safty bar with some molding trash on it that would hang on the trigger if you sort of pulled at an angle, I jsut cleaned it up with an exacto knife.

I came across your video while I was doing some research on the Glock 43. I test fired one last weekend and mentioned the sharp safety to the guys at the gun shop who just looked at me funny. But you nailed it head on about that safety being sharp. I only put about a half a box of ammo through it and had this tingle in my finger because that safety focuses all of the energy back on that tiny point. It was the one thing I didn't like about the gun. If I decide to pick up the Glock 43, the trigger is the first thing to get replaced!
