"Long in the tooth" usually refers to age. It comes from a horse term. A horse's teeth actually continue to grow, even as a horse matures. You can tell how well a horse has been cared for, his health and age by his teeth. My vet always checks my horse's teeth to see if it's time to "float". It levels the horses teeth, smoothing out rough spots to help him eat better.

This was exactly what I was looking for...I really like the cozy feeling of a cloth-bound book. Your video is so fluid and can be adapted to anything...I giggle and struggle with my tidy-orderly-obsessiveness while I listen to your mouth rattle off and your hands fly...I recognize that is what my brain sounds like all the time to me. It just can't keep up and I get overwhelmed...lol! But seeing you do it...it is comforting. I don't know if that makes any sense to anyone? Anyway thank you very much...you are a precious person!

Pam, I used my Crop-A-Dile 2 for the first time, bought it at a garage sale for $10. Quite a life saver for me as I don't have strong hands to poke thru the paper with needles or a pokey tool. Easier to sew too. I make my pages all up, decorate, then sew. I make them all for myself so it's good. They are more like remembrance albums of each month. Karen in Minn.

Long in the tooth: Getting on in years, old, as in Aunt Aggie's a little long in the tooth to be helping us move. This expression alludes to a horse's gums receding with age and making the teeth appear longer. Love you Pam…you make my coffee time so enjoyable ❤️ xoxo Diane from Arkyland

I'd come up with the idea of downsizing or writing excerpts from books or magazine articles just the parts im interested in most. I save the cardboard boxes that kleenex comes in and some notebook paper . The binders or edges that hold them together are taped to the notepaper that h as s been cut down. I had one on notes on orgsnic gardening for certain vegetables and fruits and pest control. The other book had similar things with notes from another book. Then the scotch tape holds it together. Next I have a bigger piece of kleenex box cut and folded to form a csse these 2 fit into with matching design.the 'books ' slide in and out with their binders showing. I hoard so many books and just want to lighten up. You can collect these boxes and make many kinds of books such as the accordian kind of miniature books.

Your videos are like an adventure always moving and running up hill and valley's full of adventure in such a tiny space. How you do that is yours. Never a dull moment. I bought the Outdoor book in your Amazon list but returned it (due to the traumatic killing and photographs of dead carcasses.) Buyer BEWARE.

I had two sets of those sheets (the daisy one) from 1972. One in pink like the one you are using in this video and same pattern in turquoise. Still have one pink flowered pillowcase and parts of the turquoise sheets I use for everything I need protection from. It still retains its original color and it is very soft! Lol! I've made a lot of journals by using all kind of boxing. To cover the outside, I use double tape to cover the whole space. I usually put white printing paper on top of the tape, so I have a white front. Then I clue down with water-thinned wood glue, usually napkins, but also fabric, decorating paper, or whatever I can think of. On the inside I usually just paint over it with thinned out wood glue before putting a napkin or whatever over it. Sometimes I do the same progress as at the outside to get a white background. So far I have made about 250 books, loving it every step of the way :D

ALWAYS enjoy your videos...I've made up mind... I'm getting out that journal, tonight....and, having fun with it...still on the lookout for that sewing machine with the fantastic price( never thought I would say that...I wanted to run everytime my mom would say something like...."I really wish you would learn to sew"....never thought my "paper world would meet the sewing world" 😂GASP😂) I'm a piano instructor....and, I just want to say..."happy endeavors" as your husband continues piano. Pam, I just want to say, while the basics in piano are a must, it was a shame that your piano teacher did not encourage you in your "making up tunes" on this instrument...sometimes, a teacher can make an agreement with the student...."start each lesson with the tunes" (which can be lead to a skill called "playing by ear") ...and, then continue on with the rest off the lesson. One thing, I've learned as a teacher...is to FIND those things that interest the piano student....this, can many times make a world of difference how interested that learner stays....after all, many " wonderful tunes" came before us. Anyway, back to th he world of paper crafting... I don't know how you come up so many wonderful ideas...but, they are AMAZING! GOD BLESS.🙂

I am 65 and have been teaching myself to play piano since I was 11! I never got to take lessons! Now, it’s too expensive, but I manage to play using EASY PIANO books. I know I haven’t learned correct fingering but I did find some lessons on that and was practicing. I have retired but now I’ve added “wanna be crafting” to my hobbies so have kind of slacked off on the “wanna be a pianist”! LOL However, I’m not going to give up on piano! 😊🎹 I love music too much for that!

No toe curling at this end. I’m not a sewer, so holding your hand as you were sewing…lol my knees go silly when you use that knife! Turned out great. Now to go check my linen cupboard! Cheers, Maz.❤

Pam: you crack me up! The journal turned out to be good looking, although it sounded like you were in a dangerous zone while working. Haha Carol from California

Very interesting! Experimenting with this project helps to reduce the fear of creating a journal. Your instructions were very clear. Thanks for sharing.

I've saved several food boxes with the idea of making journals but have noticed that they tend to be extra wide and would need a lot of signatures. This was great, thanks!

Cut the spine side of the box in half. Overlap and glue those edges back together. This makes the spine more narrow and stronger at the same time.

You could use binding of a co-ordinating color or trim, lue on side and machine the other sice, etc. You could use lace over the binding and so many ideas. Love it and talented people talk through the total to the finish, cause we made need expert advice!!

Pam… I’m a newbie and have finally made my journal but have not started decorating my pages yet …. But today I cut the sleeves off of a man’s shirt…to make 3/4 sleeves and normally throw away the cuffs…but ta da… I decided to save the cuffs for a pocket or band!!… it’s totally hemmed on both sides… can’t wait to try it…thought I’d mention it in case it’s something you haven’t considered yet!!😂🤪
