The same thing happened to me on my first amateur boxing fight, I was insanely conditioned for it, putting many hours in and out of the gym. But once I stepped into the ring and boxed 1 round, I was exhausted!! It's a mental thing. Composure and calmness go a long way! Keep competing and you will be great at it. It's the only way to improve.

In my first Judo tournament at age 9 I remember Fighting my third opponent for a while and feeling like he wasn't much of a threat. BIG mistake. Found myself on my back a few seconds later and for the life of me could not get him down for the rest of the round. He won because of that one moment of mental weakness from me. Mentality is so important especially in combat sports.

Experience was gained and a learning experience occurred. My advice is when you are on the feet keep your arms on the inside of your shoulder with until an opening or a counter shows. Hey man, putting up your loss is no shame, if anything as you get better you can watch this back and it’ll teach you something, as you already have. As far as how you got so tired, it definitely was an adrenaline dump, your first time competing, you don’t want to have one but you do, I wrestled quite a bit in high school, and the same thing ALWAYS happened to me the first match of both seasons I competed. Keep your chin up man, and get that arm feeling better!

You did great man win or lose you made an attempt with intention to come back and get better. Plus the fact that you can go back and not only realize what you phyiscally did wrong but mentally knowing you let ur ego get in the way. I believe your gonna get better alot faster with that kind of mindset. There's people that can point out that they physically was in the wrong all day, but mentally some individuals cant do that. Cant wait to see the next match even if u get guillotine in the first 5 seconds trial and error and repetition will make everything feel natural. Then winning will become natural
