All of you are amazing! I work for a sugar beet coop, and I appreciate the tremendous amount of work AG does to bring in the harvest, under some very challenging conditions!

How many acres do you have in your farm ?
@eagerjeffrey
@eagerjeffrey 12 жыл бұрын
Actually the question has not been asked before. Generally there are tarps rolled on that side of truck. Often farmers will put extra boards on the passenger side too. The harvester also unloads on the driver side. Pretty much designed around the harvester. Latest trend is bigger trucks and not loading in field. The year this was taken it was too muddy to load on the road so they had to use the headland. They have four carts which run in the field. Trucks usually stay out anymore.

How many acres of land you have in total, my grandpa was a farmer in Elkton area but owned land throughout Huron county. Unfortunately he died of cancer at 63 and nobody took the farm. I remember sitting with my cousin driving the truck to Pioneer sugar and lines were crazy. First person in North america to use Class equipment and was number one corn grower in Huron County btw nice vids.

Oh yeah, sugar beet harvest. It seems to almost always be in late fall and it's cool and wet out in the fields. Don't let some of these stupid comments get to you, they have no idea what they are talking about!!! You sure have neat dump carts, I have never seem ones like that. Here in Southern Manitoba the farmers use carts for the grain harvest but they unload with an auger and that clearly would not work in this application. Thanks for the video! Which part of the world was this beet harvest?

The drives on the truck were drag, hard on truck and tractor for no reason.
@Puckgrinder85
@Puckgrinder85 10 жыл бұрын
Hard on the truck how? The truck wouldn't have contributed dick to pulling the load anyhow, spinning the tires is just going to get everything else dirty. Let the tractor do the work, they are kind of made for pulling.
@crazytrucker9526
@crazytrucker9526 7 жыл бұрын
your not sopposed to drag the truck its hard on the drive terrain spinnin the wheels would eliminate the drag who cares about getiin it dirty did you not see the 12 inches of mud that they are drivin through lol
@Puckgrinder85
@Puckgrinder85 7 жыл бұрын
He could have set the parking brakes and it would have made not much of a difference, there isn't any traction, that's the point of using the tractor to pull him through it. Dragging a vehicle through that, that has no traction is not imparting any kind of strain on the driveline at all. Conversely, trucks like these typically throw drive lines when they get stuck like this and try to get out by spinning which is exactly the opposite of what you say and what common knowledge is. I don't know what you do for a living but I'm a professional technician and I also tow these vehicles.

i said he could have at least matched the speed of the tractor dont put words in my mouth and make me look like an idiot im a truck driver been doin it for over 6 years i know wat im talkin about u work on em you dont drive em.
@Puckgrinder85
@Puckgrinder85 7 жыл бұрын
"Spinning the wheels" implies turning them faster than the rate of travel, you said it yourself I don't have to put words in your mouth. When a race car driver spins his wheels do we not all assume he's breaking traction? Either way trying to match the speed isn't doing much either, no reason to risk the driveline when the farm tractor is plenty capable of pulling him, not to mention its much more controlled. Look at other beet farm operations, they do it the same way. When they harvest its usually wet and the soil just cant bear the load.
