She, getting her crown and being the queen of the north was the only truly satisfying, not dramatic but uplifting and clearly beautiful moment of the finale, what also made sense. After every evil act against the Starks, justice finally happened there. Independence for the north was something we all needed after what happened to that family.

Isabelle Blake - Daenerys wanted it for all the wrong reasons. She didn't actually care at all about the people of Westeros and she made that very clear as soon as she arrived and started killing prisoners of war. Then of course she wiped out an entire city... but anyway, she wanted the power. She thought of the power as something that belonged to her and had been taken from her. She learned in Mereen that she hated ruling. It required compromise and she said that compromise felt like defeat. She just wanted absolute power and that is why she was eventually corrupted by it. At first Sansa just wanted to be a Queen in the sense of bearing beautiful children for a King. She didn't think of the duties that she would have to her people, she thought of it in the way that little girls do - pretty dresses and a castle. In the end, she wanted it so she could ensure her people were safe and cared for so she got what she wanted but in a different way than she imagined and for different reasons entirely.

@@janellejulianajoy Sansa and her "she ain't one of us nonsense", Dany has just as much northern blood as Sansa does considering Danys half blackwood. Robb stark didn't have to deal with an invasion of dead ice demons, and if a targaryen came with dragons to save robbs kingdom, Robb would of bent the knee in a heartbeat to save the north. But Sansa doesn't do honour, she doesn't understand the meaning of the word, Jon was right to bend the knee to Dany and Dany kept her end of the bargain and saved winterfell. Meanwhile Sansa hid in the creeps, bitching about the girl who out there on a dragon saving her kingdom for her. Then what does Sansa do, make the unilateral decision to turn Dany and Jon against each other. She didn't respect Jon's position in this, she didn't respect the fact that Jon didn't want the throne, she didn't respect the fact that the woman who just saved winterfell was being targeted by Varys because of the information she gave to Tyrion. Sansa didn't care about Jon's life in this situation, Dany could of easily had Jon murdered because of Sansa silly games. So true. Thank you. She had people who were kind to her because of her status. She was always seen as a leg up for someone, outside of maybe Tyrion. She had no one literally. Wth the ONLY reason she survived was because she always had help from someone. After Joffrey died Cerseis first thought was where's Sansa bc she wanted to kill her but Sansa of course was saved by littlefinger and was smuggled out of Kings Landing. Littlefinger was always there to save her undeserving ass. She should have died the moment Joffrey did. And I'm nkt denying that other characters didn't have help of course they did but don't go around throwing false information.

Your name says it all love, get over it. You're acting like Sansa single handedly made Dany turn, when that isn't the case. You act like she didn't like Dany because she wanted her position, and again that wasn't the case. But if I went by your logic, even if Sansa bowed to Dany everyday, her fate would've been the same. She would still be wary of Jon's heritage and she still would've lost people closest to her. These were the issues that caused Dany's downfall, not the fact that Sansa didn't like her.
@luunar135 жыл бұрын
@@janellejulianajoy learn how to read love🥰 when did I say that sansa was the reason for danys "turning". Yall reaaaally like to make stuff up. Read love, READ. Sansa is a greedy and jealous bitch who would have done anything to become queen, she didn't like dany because she had everything she wanted. But I will admit that you are right about danys downfall, she still would have the same fate just because she lost so many loved ones and sansa didn't really play that big of a factor.
@janellejulianajoy4 жыл бұрын
@@luunar13 Okay. So...according to you Sansa, who had more than one opportunity to become Queen but didn't take it, is greedy? When was this? When she conceded to Jon in season six? When she wanted Jon to stay put as their King in season seven? When she was told, to her face, that she should've been the leader they chose, yet, still denied the position? When Bran comes home and the first thing she says is "you're the Lord of Winterfell"? When she tried to retain Jon as their King after it was obvious he didn't want the position? When she fought for him to remain free as their King after he was imprisoned for killing Daenerys? Why not take it a step further? Why didn't she try to get in Tyrion and the council's good grace's and try to nominate herself to rule all of Westeros? Why keep it limited to just the North? Greed means she wants more and is never satisfied. You can't want more when you're isolating yourself. Sansa was never jealous of Dany, she merely stuck to the plan. Northern independence came about the moment Ned Stark died and Robb was declared King. It's the same ideology the Northerners had, including Jon. Now, after promising his people he'd fight for their freedom as well, the ones who elected him, all they get from his is "I gave my title up, get over it". This would anger the calmest person. He gave them no choice, he just did it. Now, I can say that Jon is directly responsible for the ire pointed in Dany's direction because he lied. They were under the impression that in order for her to help, they had to make her their Queen. That would give anyone pause. And you're telling someone to learn how to read when what I posted happened in your face and you still didn't get it, these weren't inferred incidents, these were blatant conversations. You nitpick when it comes to all of Sansa's scenes, and even add things that never happened, but, you ignored what did happen?.. Sansa was a shitty character, but as we went on with the series she had to endure Joffrey and Cersei and Peter Bailish and Tyryon and the worst of em all Ramsay. She went through a lot but developed a sense of suspicion to everyone, which allowed her to move on from being Sansa to being a God in the sense of seeing the bigger picture and the consequences of all actions. The death of Dany was because of Sansa yet that was the best thing she did. She eliminated the threat to hundreds of thousands of deaths. She never thanked Dany for saving Jon and the other's lives who traveled to kidnap a wight to take to show Cersei, losing one of her children. Sansa never thanked Dany for the manpower mining dragon glass to have a fighting chance against the army of the dead. Sansa never thanked Dany for bringing her Army and her dragons, her children, to protect North. Sansa was out of line when she questioned Dany about the North, when she was in no position of authority since Jon was still King/Warden. Sansa went from complaining about amount of food to suggesting they stay to heal...with what food? Sansa showed her true colors when she watched Joffrey take his sword and cut the butcher's boys face. Then watched him swing a sword multiple times at Arya. When Nymeria comes to Arya's defense, she's mad and screaming that Arya's ruining everything. Then she lied and Lady was killed. Then she didn't want to leave KL bc she wanted to be Queen and have Joffrey's golden haired babies. Then she turns down opportunity to leave KL when she thought she would be Lady of High Garden. Then she is left to be saved my Littlefinger. She didn't refuse marrying Ramsey. She was saved by Theon and Brienne. She let Jon and many Northman go to war in Battle of the Bastards without telling him the plan of "having more men". It could have saved Rickon had Jon known Littlefinger was bringing "more needed men". She needed all male Starks out of the way.... She's not a victim.

Sansa has a kind of quiet strength that no one gives her credit for. She doesn't flaunt her wounds and scars like some of the others, yet she carries herself with a pride from all that she has endured. Just as Arya stated (when told by Ned she would be a lady ruling and have sons who would be lords) and she said "that's not me, that's not who I am". Sansa was always meant to be the Lady of Winterfell. She was a very naive and daydreamy little girl. But, she became the Lady by starting to really become aware of the game around her. I don't like that she basically stated the only way for her to not be that "little bird" anymore was suffering (rape, abuse, murder of her family). I think that was poor writing. I think it would have been better stated to say we all go through our tribulations. I wished that mine did not tear me apart so. But I.. I rebuilt Sansa Stark. I did not succumb to my tormenters. That is how the little bird became Lady of Winterfell. I don't like that they were basically saying it took getting raped and more to gain some wisdom and strength. They are things Sansa had all along or she would not have survived it. She relied on strength to get her through it early. Then wisdom. Pretty cool character.
@SpongeGirlKitty5 жыл бұрын
@@McDougle625 I agree with the rape thing. I am not against characters going through that, but in the books, it was her friend who was Ramsay's victim, not her. I loved Sansa from the start. Let's be honest: she's the most realistic character. Maybe most of us don't want to admit it, but we would be just like her in those situations, she was in. It's unrealistic to think we would fight like Arya and become a killer. Sansa was treated so wrongly by the GOT fans. She was just a little girl who was raised to be a lady - she didn't know anything else. What annoys me is how people seem to think a woman needs to be abused and raped to become strong. Let me tell you: trauma and abuse makes most people weak and fragile. There are some who come back stronger from it than before, but that's unusual. Also, Sansa's character developed greatly in the books as well - and there she was not raped. She was not the one to marry Bolton, it was her former best Friend Jeyne - who ended up with Theon after he saved her. Sansa's my favorite character, from season 1 to the end. Because sometimes you have to give in and adjust to survive. And that's the most realistic thing about the whole series.

It is true, and it is quite ignorant and somewhat hypocritical that it is only based on how it started, since we have all made mistakes just as serious as her and yet they throw hatred at her as if they were perfect and incorrigible 🙄 That is why I love Sansa, since she is a character that can be anyone, that is, someone who had many faults and made strong mistakes as a young girl, but learns and matures as she grows up and discovers the reality of the world, becoming someone else smart, strong and in a way he knew what she was before. It reminds me a bit of Zuko from Avatar, since both made big mistakes because of how they were raised and in the end they redeem themselves and take their own course (Of course, with notable differences between the two), in addition to being empathizable. Long live Sansa Stark 👩🏻🦰👑

It's not about what or how much she's been through. Most of the characters had been through unimaginable crap. But she never had anyone tell her that she was somebody worth something on her own. She was a pawn and she was - painfully - made aware of it. She didn't have dragons, protective grandmothers, an assassin's training, the assurance of being someone who'd always make morally correct decisions. But she 'learned" - at the very knees of the people who'd made her life hell. And that makes her someone you can learn from too. That was the reason she changed my opinion of her. She made me learn. Edit: Oh! I forgot to mention that she wasn't just an under-estimated character but was played by an actor who was under-appreciated as well. IMO

Jazmin that's the exact same reason that makes me like her the most in GOT, she hasn't some great power that she can use to defend herself, she speaks knowing that she will be hurt for it but she does anyway because she knows what's the great picture, she knows she'll take the North and free it and doesn't care if she'll die trying to do it. she's showing us that until you still want you can survive anything in real life because she's a real person character (not an assassin, not a dragons keeper, not a great warrior that can come back from death).

she is so so strong, and people who don't see that simply can't see mental strength. She has more mental strength than any character on this show. She hasn't broken and become a cold blooded killer, or gone mad. She faced many horrors and suffered through so much and STILL maintained her empathy. She saw everything a queen/leader should not be through Cersei, Joffrey, Littlefinger, and even Dany, and used that to become a better, stronger leader. In the books she swore that she would never become what Joffrey and Cersei were. She learned all the lessons on how to stay alive and how to play the game, but she never became cruel. That's why Arya is so proud of her (and Sansa is so proud of Arya too). She stood up for the north, even when it could've meant death for her. She stood up for it against Dany "Fire and Blood" Targaryen, and she stood up for it against the little brother that she loved. She loves deeply, and leads with her head held high. Sure, maybe her development was slow, but that is how proper character development works. She went from one of the weakest, to one of the strongest on the show. It’s really hard to watch some of the shit she goes through, but I guess we have to remember that women in real life not only went through shit like this, it’s STILL happening. A truly incredible character and definitely my favorite.

Deserves the throne? She may be the only one in westeros who has a chance of having not a better story than bran the broken. What did she actually do in the show. Remove the knights of the Vale part and make it such that Ramsay attacked wildlings so jon and wildlings fought and BoB happened and jon won without Vale. Then there is no need for her charector at all.No change to that show. But if you remove jon there is no GOT.If not for jon then no wildlings in the good side,No R+L=J,No dany against White walker. Remove dany then there is no dragons or dothraki in westeros.Show will change dramatically. But not with sansa.Remove her and nothing change

Removing Sansa would cause a full on Northern revolt. There would be no one there to talk them down after Jon pledges fealty to Dany. Sansa became the most level headed and politically astute Stark, that's her purpose. Jon showed at every turn what a shitty ruler he was. Bran was no longer Bran. Arya would kill everyone who she felt looked at her the wrong way. Sansa ran Winterfell, her siblings did not.

Define 'acting like a man/woman' ... There are no traits that are exclusive to men or women...ur comment comes from a very gendered view of what is manly or womanly...most straight women, me included, have qualites that have been traditionally considered masculine. It perfectly normal for a woman to be strong and a man sensitive.
@theminisimmer5 жыл бұрын
@@neham.marathe1869 there are certain attributes that define a man and a woman. Of course this doesn't make them any less equal to each other, and like you said, there are exceptions to the rule, but men and women typically fall into different categories. Femininity/masculinity really aren't bad things. They're natural occurances. There is nothing wrong with falling on either side, being fully "masculine" or "feminine", it is nature's way of helping us to take care of our young. No one is telling you that it's wrong to be a more masculine woman or a more feminine man, and there's nothing wrong with analysing the personality of a character based on their gender saying that they fall into a femininity, masculinity or neutral aspects of the phsyce of human behaviour. Acknowledging that doesn't make someone a bad person.

neha m. marathe The difference is most female characters portrayed as powerful are stripped of their feminine qualities to do so. Sansa literally win the game of throne with strategic words and decisions.. Telling Tyrion Jon secret lead to a butterfly effect on Varys' betrayal, Dany's madness to burn king's landing and eventually Cersei's death.. Telling Jaimie that Dany will kill Cersei lead him to go south and get caught which lead to Tyrion continuous betrayal of letting him out of prison and eventually convince Jon that Dany's reign need to be ended after his siblings are dead.. When voting for Bran to be King, Sansa simply declare North independence and eventually become Queen.. She is the wiser and kinder version of Littlefinger which create chaos and climb the ladder with the right family name.. She indirectly cause Cersei and Dany death without fighting, and then become queen..

I remember I wasnt very fond of Sansa in the beginning. But as she flourished I've learned to appreciate and love this character. She is by far one of the strongest characters in any film, in any book, in any show, by far. It's not because she doesnt cry, people deserve tears, it's because she took the bad and negative and turned it into fuel. She did not let the bad define her. She did not succumb to evil. She simply stood her ground, kept her head above water when her body was drowning, and stood by her word. She is the true protector of the North. By the end, she became one if the greatest characters. She did not start as the most appealing to me, but she sure as hell showed me. She is the true growth of the show. While other characters were ruined by the ending, she was one that remained vigilant. She is a fair and just ruler that the North is lucky to have, and Ned would be more than proud of her accomplishments. I absolutely adore Sansa and she is well deserving to be Queen of the North.

The disrespect Sansa received from "fans" of the show (mostly non book readers) was insane. I would (and still do) defend her to my core. She was a stupid, innocent girl at the start who was blinded by the promises of those around her, then drug through Hell and back for 7 seasons before she came out on top as her own woman, through and through. As she said, she's a slow learner, but she learned. She will forever be one of my favorite characters. Her ending was the ONLY one that satisfied me (and that actually made sense, but let's not get into it). The Queen of the North scene gives me chills every time. And underneath all of that was Sophie Turner and the amazing job she did with the character she was given. WE LOVE YOU LITTLE BIRD

Ned and Cat loved their children deeply, but they over protected them from the horrors of the world. But the one legacy they gave them, and by far the most important, was a strong family bond. The survivors, Sansa, Arya, and Jon, never lost that bond. Despite all of their individual traumas, they instinctively reformed the pack. Jon is a Great War hero but on his own is too honest, too impulsive, and too easily manipulated. Arya on her own cares not for politics and believes in the truth of her needle and death. Whilst Sansa, has learned the value of politics, how to read people, understand what motivates them, and how to control them. And the 3 of them together are truly formidable.
