I saw the “this person” skit too many times and I really thought it wasn’t real until I heard it happened to you recently 😢 If you have details about “this person” and recording (you mentioned that the videocall was being recorded) baka naman pwede mahanap yan. At least, you’re safe Ben! Prioritize safety pero hindi pa rin biro ang mawalan ng 14k :(

Medyo confused ako. Hindi ko gets paano nagkaroon ng Fake Carlos to delay the transaction. Di ba ikaw nagbook? If ikaw nagbook ng lalamove, you're the one to input the pick up and recipient contact number?

The fake rider likely made sure to have contacted the buyer first through SMS or a regular call, then pretended to have received the item from the seller during a video call. Meanwhile, the real rider was waiting at the booked pickup location for the seller to hand over the item.

this is true! and to answer the question, Fake Carlos is likely a 3rd person stalling Real Rider by keeping him on the line. Para hindi matawagan ni Real Rider si Real Carlos.

Its when Carlos sent the Lalamove link to Seller. You can contact the driver that is assigned to your booking just by using the link of the trip @cibenipayo it is possible that when Real Carlos sent the link of the trip, Seller fwded the link to Fake Carlos and got in touch with the Real Rider. Inunahan na ni Fake Carlos icontact si Real Rider before Real Carlos can contact Real Rider and Vice Versa I was able to use it once when my friend sent me something via Lalamove. She fell asleep but managed to send me the trip link before that. The link displayed the assigned driver's number, which was clickable, allowing me to call directly through my phone's call app. This let me to guide the driver with directions to our village guardhouse

​​@@cibenipayo San galing yung fake carlos?😅 Dalawa lang pwedeng tawagan ni Real rider which is yung Order Contact Number(nagbook) / Recepient and yung Pick up point. Baka ang ibig mong sabihin yung Real rider tinatawagan si Pick up habang inunahan ka ng tawagan ni fake rider para isipin mo na nasa pick up point na siya at mapressure ka ng mag send ng payment sa seller. Tumawag nalang siguro sayo (na nagbook/recipient) yung real rider nung di na nag reresponse yung Pick Up.

na ge-gets ko na. pero grabe panibagong scam nanaman. kaya dapat hangat kaya na mag meet-up nalang face to face at kaliwaan talaga. mahirap na yung ganyang pa deliver lalo na down payment first... wag papayag. dapat talaga meet-up.

Is this is just for content?? Db sabi mo nag send sayo ng ID and plate number ung rider so it means nag usap na kau nung rider and if fake rider ung nag send sau ng id and plate hndi mo nakita na hndi match sa sa real rider??

real rider nag send sakin ng plate and ID through Lala Move app. inupdate ko rin si seller na nakuha ko na ung plate and ID. kaya ang nangyari, ibinalita agad ni seller kay fake rider ung new info. hindi nagpadala si fake rider ng sarili niyang plate and ID. clinaim niya lang na nagpadala siya since updated siya sa nangyayari.

For content lng ba to? Kasi based sa kwento mo may mga info ka ii sa rider sa item, ung sa seller ndi mo na mention. Kung aq seller at nag pakita aq ng mukha sa videocall parang kakabahan aq nun baka ma screenshot ung mukha q since mang iiscam ung motibo q.. Ang also my protect na sa gcash.. Malaking pera ung 14k ndi ka nag avail nung scam protect sa gcash.. Wag kasi bibili ng gadget sa marketplace.. Hindi advisable..

Most scammers ndi pumapayag ng video calls kaya for sure nakita nya ung itsura,, kahit po kasi fake address pwede mo ipag bigay alam sa police or barangay para aware din sila.. I failed to mention that fake rider got really irate. Nainis siya dahil inabala ko raw siya kaya bahala na raw kami ni seller mag-ayos nung problema at dinamay ko pa siya. Minura niya pa ako actually. On your note about checking numbers if they match, yan yung isa sa mga pagkakamali ko. Definitely wasn't my first instinct to match numbers because I just got so used to answering unknown numbers when dealing with riders, senders, recepient for delivery apps.

@@cibenipayo I think what allowed this to be executed is that the fake rider contacted you via sms/regular call instead of you contacting the real rider thru the delivery booking app. I wonder what made you gave your number to the seller prior to booking a rider because i think that's the only way the fake rider was able to pretend to be the rider you booked. You mentioned seeing the rider receiving the item via video call and I assume it was thru the seller's fb messenger account.
