Incredible skills and just mind blowing what can be done with kites now! I have always had an interest in them and have flown some basic designs in the past and now, with the performance of these sport kites, I have a new hobby!

Where does one start with the quad line kites? Discovered them last weekend in Long Beach and was mesmerized by the things they can do. Almost pulled the trigger on a Rev but after browsing you site found other brands. Would love some insight from you on where to start getting into it! Thanks!

I'm still learning! 5 hours a week at least since I got my SLE in June! Oct sucked! Colorado was still! I'll post something as soon as I can figure out the editing part! I just have a small "medical problem" which doesn't help when it's a vertigo one! LOL! I can't use a cane when using two hands to fly! You guys inspire!
@JohnBarresi9 жыл бұрын
Have you tried flying from a kneeling (sitting back) or firing position? I can't fully empathize with the dynamics involved, but I can fly dizzy with my eyes closed if I'm well squared off on the ground and don't need to worry about balance. Curious to hear back about this. :)

This might get a bit long but a little background on me: Going on 7 years cancer free or 2 over how long they gave me to live. BUT they found a mass again in the sinuses last month and waiting in line to see the ENT. Might be doing the chemo and radiation dance again. Radiation to my head caused a darn tumor in the brain. The surgery to remove it caused a fun case of vertigo which makes riding a motorcycle almost impossible and walking a straight line is a challenge. Flying was a challenge at first. I also have a lot of police interaction when they see me on foot! You should have seen the first few times of me inflating my Ozone Paraglider! Just watching, my friend was cringing and he's an old Airborne Ranger! I started playing with the paraglider last year. It helped to the point I pretty much keep the cane in case I get wobbly or on asphalt. That stuff leaves a pretty rash so I stick to dirt. I found kites then you doing your thing making it look like fun and I thought I'd try kiting just to see and as therapy tools they work wonders. My VA team is curious as to why. Something about focusing up and working the quad lines and actually having to work to have fun is helping to get synapses working together again. The only problem is I now have another addiction I'll have to work on! Thanks to a site "kiteright . org" I am a firm believer in their mission! Now I can sit and even lay down and fly my SLE and the Qulon 2.2m foil quad line and even have to "hit the dirt" if the wind gets hard enough I need to be closer to the ground or meet it harder when a good gust comes along and drags my 120+- pounds across the field! LOL! And thats with the SLE even! I'm still getting the mucle memory working on the few in the arms and can "look away" but until I can feel the kite better, I'll keep my eyes on her so she doesn't bash her LE any more than I do into the ground! A firing position I haven't thought of and it's raining today with good winds! DARN! Now "backing up" is a problem when sitting on the ground! Our winds here are never steady! That and trying to find muscles that chemo melted away so I can stand and hold my ground with a sport kite. You'll see when I post just how thin I am! Scary! LOL! Anyway, I can honestly say that kiting has helped me better than any medical therapy did and I have you as the main reason I fly a Revolution! I did start with a Jazz but Deltas I have a problem with for some reason! LOL! Sorry for the drug out comment but I do "talk" a lot! Result of being an Old trucker! LOL Blue Sky's and Safe Journeys! PS, if you want to be really bored I have a bad blogspot blog about my fun time with cancer treatments and a few stories if you would like to go. w.rolloverriderpgr.blogspot. com/ start at 20108 and go to the bottom to start at the beginning.

John Barresi .......Cool, so what is the ideal wind for it for best performance? I see the different vent options, but is there an ideal window for its best performance?
@JohnBarresi4 жыл бұрын
Truth be told, since you fly dual lines already, I'd get a quad suited to when it's a bit too windy for real fun on your dualies... Djinn VT is functional in about 6-25mph... What kind of winds do you usually deal with?
@charlescollins77314 жыл бұрын
John Barresi ... The winds here in Central Arkansas avg. about 6mph. 7.5mph in May with gusts to 25mph. Really wide window. I like flying my truck kite in the 7-8 mph range. Above 10 and it’s tougher to trick, but flies well. At that point I break out the old school pulling noise makers in hopes the wind picks up to 15-20+.... I’m guessing most the time where I am it’s 3-10mph🤔

sorry dumb question, how hard is to get to 35% of your level? this is from someone who can fly single lien deltas.... Thanks John
@JohnBarresi4 жыл бұрын
That's a broad question because there are many, many disciplines and formats shown in this video... Indoor, outdoor, solo and team, dual and quad line, etc, etc... But to narrow it down: Quad line is super easy to learn these days considering the WEALTH of video tutorials and "all in the wrist" style of control, lots of my tutorials can be found at learnkites.com, roughly half of them are free to view. Dual line is also pretty easy to learn and enjoy though more difficult to master some of the tricks due to the required hand speed, etc. Ask more if you like. 👍🏻
