A month or two ago, one of my Twitter followers suggested making a video of Jinyoung speaking English, and I decided to save it and make it closer to his birthday! Jinyoung has talked a lot about studying English over the past two years, and his English has really improved, even since last year, so I wanted to make a video showcasing the results of his hard work, because I'm really proud of him. So here's a compilation of many moments in 2018 and 2019 of Jinyoung speaking English.

I usually only plan to do a birthday video for my 3 ult biases (and sometimes not even all of them, I didn't end up making one for Jae this year)-- trying to do a birthday video for each individual member of all my ult groups would be a lot 😅

IKR! It's interesting because his vocabulary and fluency has really improved over the past couple of years but I feel like his accent/pronunciation have always been really good even when he wasn't as fluent. Maybe it's Mark/Jackson's influence? idk

Jinyoung is just amazing. He tries his best in singing, dancing, acting, English, everything. He made great songs, he participated in some choreographies, his acting is so good netizen didn't mock him (at least I saw none), and his English is good considering he learnt it in adulthood. He's also the best member in Japanese. 😍 Truly the epitome of hardworking 👍🏻 PS: When they went to Indonesia he sing a song in Indonesia and his accent was real good. Unfortunately I wasn't an ahgase yet at the time 😣😭

Okay let me say this because I've noticed it throughout the years. Jinyoung is a perfectionist in everything he does and it shows. He clearly has a knack for languages and I can tell not just because of his perfect English accent (that was noticeable even back in Dream High), but even with other languages, even though it's a tiny bit. He tries so hard! We love you baby 😘

Many idols in korea not fluent and for bad reason didnt understand english, but GOT7’s korean member still studying it because of us. We need to communicate well and jinyoungie knows it. It is so heartwarming. Every idol who learn to fluent in english always captivating for me. They study for us, even they are busy because of the schedule. I feel so special because we are the reason why he studied hard. Guys, we are so lucky to have them all.

I believe Jinyoung is one of the most articulate idols that speak so well and tries to always get his point across in any language. He’s definitely a perfectionist & dedicates a lot of time to learning English and is intelligent so he’s able to properly retain it. It’s inspiring, and I would learn Korean for him in a heartbeat. Also, I think his natural speaking voice helps him articulate the words in perfect English & that’s why his pronunciation sounds so well alongside practicing it. Jinyoung is perfection💯🗣

Jinyoung is really smart and not awkward at all. He doesnt show his nervousness and he is sincere with everything he says. Having 3 members members who speak english in group definitely helped him practice, he expresses his emotions very well. Jinyoung works really hard, he is an inspiration to me.

A true all rounder and perfectionist. He's good in singing, dancing, writing, composing, choreographer, acting, mc-ing, sports, and now in language too. He's not perfect yet, he reads some of the speeches, but his pronounciation is super nice. And he is doing so during his spare time! I wish you the best in your career jinyoung

Jinyoung is smart. He knows globalisation has not only reached kpop but kdrama as well. His kpop days are limited (apologies to Got7 fans); but his acting career has a lot of upside. Fluency in English will increase the roles he’ll be offered (multi lingual roles such as Eugene Choi in “Mr Sunshine”, played by Lee Byung-hun) as well as the opportunity to be cast in English language films overseas.

When I first started stanning GOT7 in 2016, the guys would always rely so heavily on Jackson, Mark and BamBam in English interviews. I didn't pay a lot of attention to them outside of their music for a couple years but I started watching more of their content again this year and was SO surprised at Jinyoung. It's crazy how much he's improved in such a short amount of time, from speaking no English at all to sounding almost fluent in 3 years is amazing. I'm proud of my bias. 💚

Its really weird (not in a bad way) to listen to him in English because I ALWAYS listen the Korean Speaking Jinyoung. I am so surprised when I watched his interview on glamour and he spoke in English. Although it's broken and he might've difficulties articulating sentences or lack of verbs, his pronounciation is good and he can express his thoughts well. In addition to his own individual work, this is a major advantage for having fluent English speakers in you group. I'm sure Jackson, Mark, and Bambam also helped him a lot with conversational English. The same goes for Stray Kids. Felix and Bang Chan really helped Hyunjin get better at English along with the other members of the group.

You can tell he has worked hard at pronunciation. He is aware of when he needs to enunciate more because of his accent. His English is extremely good. He has also picked up English filler words which go a long way to making someone sound more fluent and confident. He should be extremely proud of himself. I know he has a step up over us trying to learn Korean since there are three fluent members he can practice conversations with (which is one of the best ways to reinforce what you learn), but he has put in the work and you can tell. He sounds just as good, if not better than people who have lived in English speaking countries for significant periods of time.

i notice got7 members are really confident and speak up whenever they get a chance. i think jinyoung is really confident and is not afraid to practice his english live. i notice when it comes to bts, most of the time namjoon does the talking and the rest of the members are usually really reserved and quiet.

I don’t really follow bts much but i think because GOT7 have mark who is a native English speaker and jackbam who are really fluent i think it creates an encouragingly environment for the korean line to be more comfortable speaking english and thats beautiful
