Theory time. So obviously, "swear not by the moon" is a Romeo and Juliet quote. And you see the balcony, the bottle of poison, the whole Renaissance feel are throwbacks to that play. But here's the kicker: they are not living the love story, they are playing it. The tent at the beginning, the collapsing amphitheatre - they are sets. And it becomes most visible in the end (my wife pointed this out), when they are on the cart in street clothes, reading the play as a travelling acting troupe - to quote Shakespeare once more, "All the world's a stage, and all the men and women, merely players"

‪What I like best about NBTM is this song, out of all their title tracks, has showcased each member’s vocal & rap power. I’ve always wanted JB to belt high notes that’s similar with the one he did in Love Loop. Youngjae adlibs & him leading the chorus; not pre-chorus or extended chorus but the main chorus. Yugyeom bridge. More Jinyoung falsetto. Jackson singing (!!!) & Bambam’s soft rap. Last but not the least, a rap part that perfectly fits Mark’s rap style.‬ ‪With this comeback, I’m hoping that nonfans will gain a whole new appreciation of GOT7. On top of this, the MV is great too!!!

Actually "You Calling My Name" was only the second best song of 2019. It was narrowly beat out by "Focus on Me" by Jus2. Jaebeom and Yugyeom are just those dudes. 😁 For real though... The teasers, concept photos and vlive #EveryDateGOT7 with each member was to “DYE” for. They were so charming 🥰 the album itself brings a dark dramatic elegant style to it, which reminds me of their I Won’t Let You Go & Eclipse era with Jackson recent comeback “100Ways”. If you know those albums and song then you’ll know what ai mean. Their title track “Not By The Moon” for this comeback is such a melody to my ears and I cant help notice the symbolism they used from some of their previous albums adding to their storyline with a classy novel concept and powerful vocals along with sharp rapping from the rapline. Youngjae, Jinyoung & JB hitting those high notes and don’t even get me started on their fits 👀🙀 *After reviewing a few times reminds me of Shakespeare’s Romeo & Juliet story about lovers who kills themselves over love; where Juilet didn’t want him to go to have love to last forever but Romeo ends up dead by poison and Juliet kills herself because she doesn’t want to live without Romeo. There’s constant phases like ‘O Swear Not By The Moon‘ that reference Juliet telling her lover Romeo not to make a promise by the moon since it always changes, poison bottle that was used to kill Romeo and the row of coffin then at the end they’re riding off inside a western carriage.* My biases JB, Jackson, Ji

As others have pointed out, this is filled with references to Romeo and Juliet, but imagining a different ending. I like the theory that the tent and wagon represent that this is a production, that relationship drama is A Drama we’re all acting in. I really love how the moon imagery is constantly shifting to visually back up the quote they’re using. Even the hand sign is two crescents moving toward full. The Aghase bird shattering the full moon in the Temple setting... *chef’s kiss* I imagine that the shirts vs skins scene around Jackson’s throne is the two warring families from the play. If we wanna get really nerdy, the only member of royalty in the play is the Prince of Verona who stands outside the conflict and actually is the one to banish Romeo after he kills Juliet’s cousin. Jackson saying “no more drama??” 😂 But yeah, the bottle is most likely supposed to be poison. Or dye :P Tbh, the title makes me laugh cuz, y’know, idols

This MV got many signs & theory here and there. Here is only my opinion and theory for this MV. 😅 *Jinyoung* is the Juliet (Who let away the bird at first and the one who locked in the room at up floor) The one first try to ends her life but actually did not because of the fake poison given to her. *Yugyeom* is the Romeo (Who let away the bird at the ends) The one that ends his life after Juliet with the real poison who thought that Juliet already not in this world anymore but actually did not. *BamBam* can be reminds us the loves between two people which trapped in due to many challenges that they have to going through together.(You can see Bambam scene where he is surrounding by the blue greenish light like a prison for him). *JB* is Juliet's assistant, the one that change the real poison to the fake poison to Juliet but then let it passed the poison away to the wrong people(the one with black clock and mask). *Jackson* is reminds us the monarchy and the fight between two differents degrees of family between Romeo & Juliet (You can see at the scene Jackson in king's wardrobe and there's two differents of group who is with the black coat who represent Juliet's family who is in higher degree and another one is shirtless who represent Romeo's family who is in lower degree). *YoungJae* is simbolized as the sacrifies & death of this two people after cannot be together. (Youngjae lied down on the long table that looks like a coffin). *Mark* (Who is in the more like in the rich place) The light of their future loves that Romeo and Juliet imagines if they can be together. I like this Romeo & Juliet concept that describes how the eternal love can be beautiful and tragic in human life. #GOT7 #NOTBYTHEMOON #JB #MARK #JACKSON #JINYOUNG #YOUNGJAE #BAMBAM #YUGYEOM p/s: Sorry for the long comments here.😅
