I always feel so bad for these babies on gotcha day. It's total chaos. People talking, babies crying, people getting in their face with cameras. The second day is so much better when they can quietly bond with their family. Then their personality starts to shine.

Sherrom Clavier I totally agree with you it must be so scary for them just shoved into the arms of a total stranger who looks nothing like people you ever seen before. Some of the careers just shove the child into the new parents arms and walk away, could be they are upset at losing them but I think they are the babies that have been in foster care. When I saw the video of a little girl called Sa Rang I cried for her and her foster mummy. They do seem to adjust though

Such a large degree of chaos for small children to first meet their new parents. I mean, they do not even know what s nana or poppa is and American' s usually look very different to Asian children! It would be better if calmer atmosphere existed. And adopted child could be with new parents in a place where Asian caregiver could also be as the child becomes more relaxed. Not just shoved into arms and told mama and poppa. Urban situation here not rural, I can see.?

Reality show. New parents grab the baby and smile to the camera while tge poor child is confused, stressed and scared. It takes time ladies to become a mother and it takes time for the baby to accept u ...

Totally agree. It’s the least the Chinese govt should do for these poor babies. It’s their fault due to their foolish one child law that there are so many orphans needing families. They owe these children big time!

Sometimes it’s even sadder when they don’t cry,,it’s like they’ve just given up and their little broken hearts just go along with whatever they’re told. But I have to say for the most part, every video I’ve watched the child does thrive and appears VERY happy with new family. Thank God!
