GodFather Not ALL counselors are the same. Just cause you had a bad experience doesn’t mean the GIRL will. Sorry you had a bad experience, but I’d rather have the girl who is struggling with her sexuality talk to a counselor rather than her parents cause her parents, sound like they wouldn’t care. SOO, my opinion isn’t changing. Counselors are there to protect you and stand up for you when you can’t defend yourself. They’re supposed to support you no matter what and try to guide you down the right path.

Slowly come out and its gonna be hard but at the end of the day that is your family. And slowly your family will come around. Listen I'm assuming that those are her friends deepest darkest secrets that she told in confidence because she probably couldn't tell anyone else. The friend was inflicting actual harm to her body. So many people (especially young people) have taken their lives because of being picked on for being LGBTQ. That's requires real counseling. I agree, I think her friend should talk to another trusting adult like a counselor at school. A professional that can help her approach her parents and speak her truth. If they don’t accept you and you’re only in the eighth grade and they try to kick you out (which I highly doubt) and send you to another family member, it might be a good thing just like Zo said. Talk to a counselor and talk to your friend who asked for Zo’s advice for you girl. She’s a REAL friend. Hope this whole situation turned out in your favor hun. I LOVE YOU GUYS. As the first American born to my full blooded Jamaican family, I chose to wait until I was out the house and free to live my life without an adult oppressing me because of how they felt about my sexuality. I think people are crazy and I put nothing past anyone even family, My mom promised me a one-way ticket to the afterlife when I was 15 if I ever turned out to be gay and look at god I love both and ended up marrying my wife. My family did exactly what I thought they would (turned their backs on me) but I'm okay (AS AN ADULT). Having to depend on people is the hardest thing to do especially when they want to mold you into someone that just isn't you, So protect yourself until you don't have to depend on the people who don't know how to love you just because you're a little different. You're entitled to live as happily as you want just like every other heterosexual, don't forget that !

I'm 22 and I told my mom and grandpa(her dad) that I was bisexual. I told my my dad and my stepmom. They accepted me but I know that my dad's parents will love me but judge me if i tell them. You have to love your life, it's not anybody else's to live. Do what makes you happy. 😊😚😘

For the first video I would say you need to feel out who in your family might be accepting, any adult who isn’t your parents/mother in your family and talk to them. You need to find an adult who is in your corner who can advocate for you if you can’t find that in your mother/father. There’s is nothing wrong with finding a support system elsewhere.

I can’t wait to move out this year or next cause my parents (nana and mom) don’t accept my sexuality. I am bisexual and they only thought I was joking and tried scaring me out of it. I don’t understand why they would say “i’ll accept you no matter what. I love you and I won’t be mad.” but when I came out...they didn’t like it at all.
