Vale Quincy Jones. Thank you for this wonderful version of Handel's Messiah. It gave me great joy to learn and perform. And remembering Leonie - also sadly gone from this world - who prepared this video.

At first I was like, oh my goodness, how the heck is this going to be ANYTHING like the Hallelujah Chorus, but then they opened their mouths and sang. ~ God Bless

Nuff respect to Quincy Jones who arranged Handel's Hallelujah Chorus into a catchy r and b , jazzy gospel number . Well done to these guys for singing this rather difficult piece , its not as easy as it sounds

I love this Quincy Jones, black gospel arrangement of the "Hallelujah" chorus! For the question about drums....the Bible commands us to "praise Him with tamborines and dancing" (Psalm 150:4) Tamborines are shallow drums with jingles attached. All families of instruments--woodwinds, brass, strings, percussion--are commanded to praise YAHWEH, as are all humans and the entire created order/cosmos! Just read the Psalms--and you'll be dancing, too! :-)

@jesussavior1364 I don't have a problem with drums, I feel that though sometimes people take certain instruments, particularly drums and play them out of control. With this however, I think the drums did well, as the word Gospel means "good news", why not try our best to show everyone how much "we" enjoy and truly understand the good news "we" are trying to show others. I mean if someone's really happy about something I'd be able to tell instantaneously.

Before one can call it gospel alot more feeling needs to be in this, meaning the song should be studied by each and every student. Not necessarily the history of it, but just a natural want to listen to this music daily, because of how much it speaks to you. the movement is too rehearsed, it doesn't look like anyone is enjoying it at all.

If you've not got Handel's talent, please spare us from your musical attempts... From both a theoretical and musical perspective that has got to be one of the worst renditions I have ever heard; likened only to noise polllution.
