I think my favorite moment of Taka's ments were when he said that they ditched their agency cuz they wouldn't support their Western breakout because "Japanese bands cannot do it". When Taka said "I told them, that's your fckin limit, not mine" - that hit home so hard. It's really about what's in our heads aint it? If you set yourself a limit, you WILL be limited. But he was like fck it, we're gonna make it. And they DID. They worked so hard for years and years for it and never gave up. This band is such a great role model. Such an inspiration. They had no privilege or backing, their own agency didn't support them. But they still went for it and made it!

I don't think the agency didn't support them because they thought, "Japanese bands can't do." Japan's music market is the second largest in the world, and a huge amount of money can be made just by selling domestically. They have a much bigger market than the combined European countries, so they don't need foreign money. That's why they don't actively promote themselves overseas. From the agency's perspective, it is safer to make money by focusing on selling in the huge domestic market. It is natural for a company to want to focus on the domestic market where it is certain to make money, rather than trying to enter a small market with no guarantee of sales. If you want to make more money overseas than in Japan, you have to be a hit in America. However, it is understandable that a company with many employees would want to do business in the safe domestic market. Because Japan has the second largest market in the world, a small market like Korea is a different story.

This is my first time leaving a message. I like to see your anime reaction and one ok rock reaction. The song I started listening to them was "Kanzen Kankaku Dreamer". I was about 12 years old at the time. I decided at that time that the first concert in my life would be dedicated to them. I was hesitating about choosing a high school when I was listening to "We are". I think this song was a major turning point in my life. They make me feel like I'm not alone and that I can be myself. I'm 23 years old now. This year I graduated from college and my dream of attending a concert came true. It felt so good to be caught in the rain in Kaohsiung, Taiwan with them! I thought I saw you and your wife pass me when I was in the merch line but wasn't sure it was so didn't say anything 😅. I did hope it is as I remember your early reactions and knew you'd love it.
