Symphogear is the most Anime anime you will ever see. Its absolutely insane. Not only is it "finished", each season except for the 4th thought that it was going to be the last season. Its a series with 4 finale's. A series that each time the fan support grew and grew and convinced the powers that be to reinvest into them and get them the opportunity to tell more stories. And it all ends up making sense.

Yes, Symphogear is magical girl anime (more specific in mecha-mahou shoujo genre like magical girl nanoha and such). The girls get the power from the relic through singing. It's full of action and song cause they battle while singing (every girl has at least 1 theme song per season, not counting the duet/group theme). Every song is great and unique, so many talented VA involved. Season 1 more kinda lore heavy and it seems a lot of experimental due to it still new and it is original anime, so season 1 can be quite different than other season. Season 2 they add new character to finalize the team of 6 people. Season 3 dan 4 where we can see a pattern and more heavy action focus rather than lore only. Season 5 is the finale, the action scene is immaculate and the song is amazing. There is a lot of mythological/biblical reference throughout the series, like tower of babel, nephilim, gungnir, etc. The "villain" each season also different. I don't know much about the game though, it is a gacha game which not popular in the global and got shut down a couple years ago if I am not mistaken. I am quite surprise you can react to symphogear, the copyright is quite strict isn't it? I hope you can also react to symphogear anime. Oh also, the opening song singer is Nana Mizuki, a big figure in Japan. She is a very popular singer and voice actress for a lot of anime. Her concert is also superb with many shenanigan like running while singing, flying in the stadium, riding giant mecha, etc. You should check her concert.

About season 1 being experimental. They were going to with prerecorded music for the fights. But the timing got messed up. Kanade's VA suggested having them sing to the fighting. They tried and stuck with it. That's how we got gems like them screaming from effort in the songs.

Hey Luke, glad you enjoyed the OPs, the first five are from the (finished) anime and the last two from the mobile game. All OPs are sung my Mizuki Nana (who also voices the blue-haired girl Tsubasa in the show). Besides her, you might know Aoi Yuuki doing the voice of Hibiki (the blond one with the yellow colour scheme). About the cheekyness/nakedness, only a few bathscenes here and there, not much. Well, during the transformation sequences you get the typicall mahou shoujo "nakedness". Besides that, the premise of the anime is, that they all have to sing during the fights, to power they Symphogear (the suits they are wearing). Since the first season was mainly a passion project, there wasn't too much budget but it is still a great watch. Also season 1, season 2 (G), season 3 (GX) and season 5 (XV) were all intended to be the last season, so the pacing is crazy, as they had to put all into the 13 episodes. Last time I checked, there were 134 songs for the anime and mobile game, so yeah, music is an important factor here :D Hope we can get you into reacting to it, even if it is just a patreon exclusive (as you have a lot of music in there).

This is one if my fav anime Edit. This anime changed my perception in music made ma adore even more Nana Mizuki, arrived at a point in my life where i needed this. The seasons kept on getting better as it progress until the ultimate ending where I just screamed so much. Symphogear is easily one of my favorite anime series of all time, and that's saying a lot! I'll be the first to admit that getting through season 1 was a struggle (primarily due to pacing and the animation budget being so low) but seasons 2 through 5 were all amazing! Yeah, I had to double check if he was a man or a woman when I first heard him sing 😂 tho the song I listened to was from his SHOWTA-era, so he sounded extra feminine in it. I also just listened to some of his music again, and stumbled upon the ending song he did for Hatsukoi Monster, which is probably still the funniest and craziest EP ever imo. You are not wrong thinking about mechs and aliens. Symphogear is basically Magical Girls + Tokkusatsu (like Kamen Rider) + Mechs + Music vs Ancient sorceress, alchemists, the Illuminati and aliens. It's awesome. About the music, the openings are sung by the legendary Mizuki Nana, she also is the VA for the blue haired girl, Tsubasa, which is almost an anime version of her. Also, there is a ton of character song in the anime, it was their selling point. Basically, the girls transform and fight using songs as a power source, so the anime is full of songs.

Symphogear had a "Final Season" in 2019 and it was maybe the best season of anime ever made. (XV) It was a season made entirely for the fans who stuck with the series. The creator (who is the composer for the soundtrack) chose to end the series on his own terms and because he did he made the final season one of the greatest endings to an anime ever. He answered all the questions, tied up all theloose ends, and gave the fans more fan service than they could handle and it was an experience of a lifetime. That is the kind of series Symphogear is, a Series made by a Fan of an idol, for fans of music all over. There will never be a series like it again.

Everyone's explained by now, but Symphogear is basically a magical girl show with mecha trappings, like Nanoha before it. The difference is that Symphogear is that way from the get-go, as opposed to "right after someone noticed the heroine's magical girl outfit looks like the RX-78-2". So their outfits all have mecha portions, there's a dedicated bridge crew (you've seen them briefly in some of the openings) and one of the girls uses the Itano Circus (simultaneous volleys of missiles, named after an animation director of many classic mecha shows). Seriously, it's awesome.

The third opening Exterminate is my favorite song of the whole series i just love it sooo much. It is an interesting show for the most part it is a slice of life anime following magical girls which get their powers from their singing ability. They stay transformed the whole time they sing .... so yea they have to sing a lot to save the earth. About the nakedness that is part of the magic girls transformations ... it is a clasic you see from Sailor Moon and other shows like Madoka too. But yes the music overall is god tier. I like that 90 style techno fast pace sometimes it feels like initial D but even more, like in rythm games. Love it a lot. Thanks for reacting to it.

This is the anime just like Macross, there're A LOT of songs in there. Every character sing when they fight, so you'll expect at least 2 songs per character. That's a lot. Also the opening singer is Mizuki Nana, which also voice the blue haired girl. Yes, more songs from her. Mizuki Nana and Nishikawa Takanori are my favorite singer. Somehow they collab and we got the 'Preserved Rose" That's like dream comes true, someone need to tell him to react to that song!

We actually got multiple songs like say more than 6 songs per main Symphogear user and to add more they also have a duet, trio and the whole group songs. They do sing in battle, like they sing as they fight and you can cleary hear the faint out of breath in some instances in the song and loud screaming to go with the Lyrics~

The series is technically 'finished', but each season save for the fourth was made without anticipation for another being made, being an anime original and all, so it's already had 3 other stopping points prior. That being said there is a movie and a new project underway for the series. All 5 openings are sung by the same person. Nana Mizuki the voice actress for the blue haired girl. She's my favorite character in the series. I am so excited you're finally going to watch it. I love the series. The musics almost all top tier too. Also important to note that the last two openings are not from the anime the first one is from the mobile game. I don't know where the second one's from though.

To recommend another magical girl anime that features both Nana Mizuki & Aoi Yuki, how about the Pretty Cure series. It's a much more child-oriented series in a similar vein to Sailor Moon, but it has some genuinely really good fight scenes. Like one of the heroines punched a villain in the face because his monologuing pissed her off.

I watched all of Symphogear in two weeks of early 2020 and I never stopped thinking about it, it is absolutely one of my favorites of all time.

YAAAAAAAS. So glad you got the chance to take a peek, I know reacting to some of the ops and eds is difficult due to copyright but it has to be one of my favourite anime of all time. its Magical girls using their singing to power up ancient relic armor and beat down ancient evil monsters that turn people into coal dust and are attracted to loud noises, hence their name "Noise" All of the various Seiyu (VA's) from the 5 seasons of the series are singers and idols in their own rights (the only exception being Aoi Yuki, Hibiki Tachibana's VA. It was her first singing and lead role, she's now a household name in Japan). If you do decide to watch and react, this anime pulls no punches, has not so subtle but not lewd Yuri fan service and despite the somewhat questionable animation in season 1, actually improves with every season. (seriously, some of season 5's fights are peak anime movie quality)

In SYMPHOGEAR, the girls harness the power of ancient relics, such as famous holy spears and swords. They can unlock these relics with their singing voices, transforming them into their own mechanical armor. Additionally, by singing more intense songs, they can enhance the power of these relics. Therefore, in the anime, you'll see them engaging in battles while singing passionate songs.

Symphogear is such an amazing anime, I'd HIGHLY recommend checking it out. Great story, and fun moments but it knows when to get Dark... and I mean DARK. The only problem with watching all the openings ahead of time is that it does spoil the "secret" of Season 1. Also, as others have stated, the singer for the series is Nana Mizuki. She's also the VA for the blue-haired girl with the big swords. Nana Mizuki tends to be the one to sing the OP's for nearly every Anime she has a voice role in. Also Also, The last 2 Openings are from the (sadly now dead) mobile game, Symphogear XDU.

YES! OH MAN Ever since I saw you doing this openings series I KNEW Symphogear would be perfect for this. Each opening and ending is SUCH a banger - and all the songs they sing in the anime are just as good, if not better, AND entirely diegetic! I only found Symphogear in 2019 right after it's final season but I love it to peices. It's just such a great, bombastic, passion-driven show.

Seriously the cast is so stacked with great singers. Aoi Yuki, Nana Mizuki, Ayahit Takagaki are just the tip of the iceberg. Nana Mizuki, who also voices the girl with the blue hair, sings all of the openings. Ayahi Takagaki, who voices the girl with white hair and the red outfit, sings all the ending songs - which tend to be a lot calmer. Seeing these songs performed live is such an amazing experience.

All these openings are banger and show very amazingly the story. The vocalist in this anime is one of the main leader in the story, Kazanari Tsubasa. This story is about girl that fights Noise and otjer 'ennemi' and to do tjat they have to use ancient relics and sing while fighting...

FINALLY YES ! now that you reacted to the openings you have to do the endings please. There are also A LOT of really good insert songs. Ultimately I would recommand watching the anime (5 seasons so that's a lot of episodes)

I'm so happy you reacted to these! I love Symphogear so much and when I recommended it a few weeks ago, I wasn't sure it would get enough requests. But I'm so excited it did! Thank you so much! Symphogear is a magical girl/mecha show where the characters use singing to power magical tech suits. It does have a lot of content warnings (e.g. nudity, sexual assault (implied), torture, death, gore, and psychological trauma). But if you're okay with those, I HIGHLY recommend the anime. It has fascinating lore, the characters have great characterization and arcs that extend over multiple seasons, the action is fantastic (especially as it gets further in), and the music is top notch. Also, yes, there are transformation sequences and by season 5 they are absolutely crazy. Definitely a show for adults, but an excellent one. Also, if you like the singer, she also does the openings for another tech-based magical girl show, Lyrical Nanoha, which I recommend. The openings are not as high-paced and intense as Symphogear, but they are very beautiful.

Mizuki Nana, the singer of these OPs voices the blue haired girl. The only character whose VA wasn't picked primarily for their singing is Hibiki, the main character. She is voiced by Yuuki Aoi, who voiced Madoka, Tanya, Victorique from Gosick, Iris from Pokemon, Diane from the seven deadly sins, Tatsumaki from OPM, Clementine from Overlord, Tsuyu from MHA, and a whole load of others.

Splits Girl has swords on her feet and Break Dances during fights to slash up stuff. (Shes also the one singing every OP) Symphogear is that kind of a crazy anime. Its an anime based on 90s action movies and the sort of dumb hype and entertainment those movies had. The guy who created the series iwas a muscian who made the series entirely for the sole purpose of getting the OP singer, Nana Mizuki, to sing a song he wrote. Since it has become a field for VAs to show their singing powers to a wider audience and it has delivered. God Tier Soundtrack.

Throwing this out there again, but I'd love if you'd react to the Pretty Cure/Precure openings. Favourite magical girl series back in the day. And it basically still is since Madoka doesn't beat it out, but I appreciate Madoka's creativity and story more. Nostalgia and sheer amount of content (and great fights for the time) still put Pretty Cure as my favourite.

Mizuki Nana, I think she is one of the most iconic 2k00's singers and seiyus (VAs), I mean she still making anime/music, but her golden times were in that years. Some other songs I really like of her are Dog Days first season first opening, and Rosario + Vampire's Capu2(2nd season) ending, then some Shugo Chara character/insert songs.

To answer your questions without too many spoilers about "What is this show?" Season 1 - Introducing the concept of Symphogear, a weapon system used to fight creatures called Noise that appear every few centuries that kill with a touch (think like how the Gnosis kill people in Xenosaga). We meet our two protagonists and a rival, as well as the Seasonal Big Bad. Much that happens here will reverberate (and yes, I choose that word on purpose) for the rest of the show. Intro song is called "Symphogazer." This also begins the trend of the TITLE of the intro song becoming relevant later in the show. And yes, all the intro songs are from Mizuki Nana, who plays the blue-haired girl. Season 2 - Introduces a rival group of Symphogear users who have their own agenda, as well as explains where the Noise come from in the first place. The Seasonal Big Bad is completely insane. Intro is titled "Vitalization." Season 3 - Introduces the concepts of Alchemy and the brand-new Alca-Noise that are stronger than the normal Noise, and the four elemental women who are working on a plan that requires the Symphogear in some fashion for the SBB plans to come to fruition. Intro is titled "Exterminate." Season 4 - Delves deeper into the concepts of Alchemy, and introduces a group of famous historical alchemists as the boss trio, plus the SBB who is again completely insane. Intro is named "Testament." Season 5 - Brings everything to a head, culminates all the dangling plot threads from the previous few seasons. The SBB slot is shared between two characters. The true purpose of the Symphogears is finally revealed, and the final battles are indeed epic. The mini-boss squad in this season sadly is a bit under-developed, but they tried. Song is called "Metanoia." Overall, a really fun series, and since each season is only 13 episodes they have to pack a LOT of stuff into each episode, there's not a whole lot of time to breathe for anyone once the plots kick off. There's also a surprisingly high amount of civilian casualties in this show, by comparison to similar type shows.

We don't know much info besides it being a film/movie at the moment. But for the Anime it did finish for the time being, let's say if we put that new project aside.
