I like to think that one of the reasons Speedwagon is there, is to show the difference between him and Dio. As they were discussing at the start of the episode, Speedwagon could have possibly became bad only because of his circumstances, while Dio was evil from the day he was born. This could be why Speedwagon was so easily swayed by Jonathan's act of kindness.

Just a suggestion for the titles though, I would highly recommend you title based on the part, since the seasons don't exactly line up with the adapted part, plus the episode number reset for each season, so it can end up getting confusing. You would title next episode, for example something like "Jojo's Bizarre Adventure: Part 1 Phantom Blood- Episode 4."

What the anime forgot to show is that Dio's father, Dario Brando, did stop being a criminal and used the money from selling the ring to open a small hotel as their new source of income. However, the business failed and as a way to cope with that, Dario became an alcoholic. Then, that was the time that Dio started poisoning his own father.

Ep 1 and 2 where just the appetizer by establishing the story and introducing the supernatural stuff while ep 3 just goes balls to to the wall by going fully bizarre. The whole fight maybe makes 5% actual sense but goddamn is enyojable to watch. Dio is kinda hard to genuenly hate as while he is a truly evil bastard he is also just so funny to watch. Man just starts screaming about throwing away his humanity and becoming a vampire just so he can continue to hate and eventually take over the world or somthing. George is just the nicest guy around to a ridiculus degree and Jonathan is as well. Even when trying to kill Dio its to put him to rest because Jonathan failed to prevent his turn to becoming a vampire. Truly a gentleman. Speedwagon is also just a bro.

Yeah so in the manga it's more clear than what the anime shows Jonathan actually knows that the mask has some sort of power (he does not know exactly what) and Dio scrammed through his notes (because Jonathan is an archaeologist) and found that it could potentially lead to something He tried it out and had to come in terms with what he was about to do Also Jonathan was distracted by the mask, which he had studied and knew something would go wrong with it, which is why he basically didn't even notice the knife dio pulled out and hence why he was saved by his dad

As I said in the last video, Jojo was meant by Araki as a work of art to celebrate humanity, therefore Dio rejecting his humanity every human feelings is the most evil action he could do to oppose Jonathan, which indeed is pure good, gentle and brave. There's also so much contrast and opposition between Jonathan and Dio that their hair color is one the contrast of the other. As a consequence, Dio is stated by Araki to be asexual and with no interest in mundane things. The sound "WRYYY" is used to represent the frozen and heavy breath of Dio, it has no particular meaning. Musical references of the episodes: Robert E.O. Speedwagon is a reference to the band R.E.O. Speedwagon; one of Speedwagon's friend in the last episode is called Tatoo, referencing the nickname of Kevin Cronin, the singer of the band Speedwagon; the name of the guy who sold the poison to Dio is Wang Chan, which refers the '80s band "Wang Chung". RIP for George, he was a true gentleman till the end. Can't wait for next episodes!

But ironically usually the people who complain about the villain of the week formula in Part 3 are the same people who at the same time react to a bunch of American cartoon series, which are all basically villain of the week formula
