"Swing, batter, batter" is a taunt that the other team yells, often in Little League baseball, to try to get the batter to prematurely swing at the ball and hopefully strike them out. In the US, baseball is used as a metaphor for getting somewhere with a lady - 1st base, 2nd base, etc. My favorite song (and video) of his is Hot Mama.

Trace Adkins is a country singer as well as he's been in a few movies and tv shows. He actually very tall man as well. The song of his I really like but it's a tear jurker is "your gonna miss this".

Trace Adkins is tough dude. He dealt with alcoholism at one point in his life which led to a fight with his ex wife. She pulled a gun on him and he tried to disarm her but he ended up getting shot through the heart and both lungs. Crazy he was able to have a singing career after that.

Love Trace. He has some great music out there and love his voice, like smoke and whiskey. His songs "Til The Last Shot's Fired" & "Arlington" really tugs at the heart big time. But he has a lot of fun ones too (Honkey Tonk Badonkadonk, "Ladies Love Country Boys" he joined Blake Shelton on Shelton's "Hillbilly Bone" & "Hell No"). He is a big supporter of the Wounded Soldiers program. He has a lot of songs about veterans.

Trace Adkins is a fairly amazing person as entertainers in the western industry goes lol.... You do totally need to check out "Ladies Love Country Boys", "Honky Tonk Badonkadonk" (which then should lead to Home Free and their Butts Remix), and "You're Gonna Miss This" (with a box of tissues lol). Other country artists .... lots of tissues needed probably lol... Martina McBride - "A Broken Wing" Reba McEntire/Vince Gill - "The Heart Won't Lie" Vince Gill - "Go Rest High On That Mountain" (really anything by him, his voice is amazing) Chris Stapleton - "Tennessee Whiskey" and/or "Sometimes I Cry"

Trace has lots of fun songs like this as well as more serious ones that tug on your heartstrings. He's also a supporter and advocate for the Wounded Warrior Project and has a number of military themed songs. If you want to check out more of his stuff, some that I'd recommend are "Hot Mama", "Just Fishin'", "You're Gonna Miss This", "Mind on Fishin'" "Arlington", "Til the Last Shot's Fired", and "Semper Fi". He has an extensive catalog so I tried to limit myself in recommendations, but so hard when he has so many that I love!

Hi Luke, I usually listen to your BTS reactions as I am ARMY through to my core but before this I had a thing for country music and Trace Adkins was one of my favourites. Also Rodney Atkins and Montgomery Gentry. I'd forgotten how much I love Trace's voice, so deep and sultry. Thank you for reminding me. I'm going to have a country session now. My mom was diagnosed with breast cancer two weeks before Christmas in 2021. She's one of the toughest women I know, but this has been very hard on her. She got a masectomy last March and she's been struggling with her body ever since. My dad has been there for her through everything, tells her constantly she's as beautiful to him as the day he married her 35 years ago and all he cares about is that she's healthy. That song hits home for her.

'Ladies love country boys' is another fun one & he has an amazing patriotic one called 'Arlington'. My fav is 'Every light in the house is on'. He also has a couple fun duets with Blake Shelton, the first one from years ago was 'Hillbilly bone' & more recently, 'Hell right'. A little trivia for you is that his ex, shot him 3 times & he is 6'7" tall. LOL

When the song came out people ask if the announcer was an actual baseball announcer. He wasn't. He was a blind announcer who had never seen a baseball game.

Did you notice the Japanese player? It's an acknowledgement that baseball is very popular in Japan. Several major league baseball teams have players from Japan. They just beat the US team in an international baseball competition whose name I cannot currently remember. It is also very popular in central America as well as Cuba and the Dominican Republic. I have heard that our local team makes sure a number of their assistant coaches speak Spanish because of the number of spanish-speaking players.

I can hardly stand to watch a baseball game on TV but had a lot of fun watching it live. Played softball a few times with my church (pretty much the same game but with a different ball and metal bats instead of wooden ones). Pretty fun game, but I find MLB boring.
