To answer your question in the caption, Frieren absolutely is a masterpiece! Can we please get the 3 versions of Takt of Heroes from Re:Zero next? 🥹🙏🏽 1:28 If there’s enough source material the hiatus won’t really have an effect on the Season 2 production. Normally you won’t get an official announcement for another season till they’re deeper into production usually it’s a year to 1 1/2 years before the new season airs. The ending screen did say (paraphrasing) “the journey towards Ende continues” and it was a big success. The only holdup for the anime could be for staff that worked on Frieren to be working on other projects rn and anime this good looking and well crafted take time to be produced 8:30 I mean we do have Fern who’s already a faster shooter than Frieren 👀

Looked up Evan's credits and I didn't realize he did the music for "My Happy Marriage" explains why it was so good and fit so well. Fantastic anime so far that I recommend people go into blind, it's a romance anime with a sprinkle of action set in the 1920s.

Frieren is my #1 anime of all time. Story, characterization, drama, animation, music, it's just perfect. Not action-packed, and the action isn't as intense as, say, JJK or Demon Slayer, but on balance, I prefer Frieren over all those.

Yes the sage of corruption Qual made Zoltraak 80 years later it's ordinary offensive magic, but Frieren and Fern use a modified version that's specifically to kill demons. A second season is very likely because of the first season's success but nothing is confirmed yet, but I don't mind waiting years either as long as they take their time so it stays just as good if not better.

Pirate sea shanties are a bit different from what you'd actually see in most of these pirate movies like PoTC where the composers take a lot of inspiration from Irish/Celtic folk music. Your hearing a huge similarity from the folk aspect of the song but from what is traditionally a pirate sea shanty or chantey depending on where you are they are generally slower and more lyric based then what you hear from the upbeat folk songs.

This is so very late (well, five days), but I wanted to add an ost reaction suggestion. I’ll add it to the next ost reaction vid, just haven’t seen one since this (because of uploads, blah blah blah, I’m skipping the paragraph crap). Anyway, I’d recommend “N Da Gi Na Da” by Keiji Inai, from the anime Outbreak Company. It’s only about a minute long, but truly worth a listen. It’s not, well, epic or anything, but… humorous? I can’t explain it, but I think at least someone can agree with me. If anyone (in general) hasn’t listened to it, then just check it. Give it a moment to get good, then understand the true excellence of… something or other. Ahem. Anyway, definitely recommend

Frieren Season 1 Anime Spoilers and explanation regarding Zoltraak, since Luke forgot Zoltraak was created by a demon - the Sage of Corruption Qual, and it was a spell supposed to specialize in armor/defense piercing. However, due to Frieren and the hero party's contributions as well as the passage of time, defensive magic developed to the point where Zoltraak was eventually considered ordinary offensive magic. The Zoltraak which Fern was using wasn't actually Zoltraak, it was a modified version of it taught to Fern by Frieren which specialized in killing demons, being essentially modified to the point where it couldn't even be, or could hardly be, called Zoltraak anymore. Meaning, the spell itself wasn't originally created to specialize in killing demons, it's just the modified version that Frieren came up with.
