nah, we aught to always judge. Thats how we survived this long. We make judgements ALL THE TIME. and most of the times we are right. If we see someone dressed like a Thug coming our way we cross the street to take precautions, if a place we go eat dont look that clean we dont eat there.. etc, etc, Just because we may be wrong a few times about our judgements dont mean we aught to stop doing it. Is a basic survival skill. Those who dont judge end up getting the bad end of the stick.

@jewelmarkess10 жыл бұрын
She wouldn't have. If you think she would, listen to Victoria de los Angeles singing this aria and consider - this is what your mother would compare it too. Also, since she loved opera, she knows what this aria is about. In this aria, the teen girl tells her father she loves the boy and threatens to commit suicide if she cannot marry the boy. I doubt your mother would like a man singing it, it's like a man's singing "I feel pretty" from the West-Side story or a teen girl singing "Old man river".
@Uroboro_Djinn10 жыл бұрын
jewelmarkess Why does gender matter when a story is told?
@jewelmarkess10 жыл бұрын
(ノóωò)ノ ✩much-wow✩ He is not telling a story. He is "acting a role" in a sense. This is not a stand-alone song, it's an aria from an opera. In opera, Gianni Schicchi, this aria is sung by a specific character, a teenage girl, Lauretta, who begs her father to agree to conditions that the boy's parents set so that she can marry the boy. She says "daddy, I love him, he is so handsome. I want to go to Porta Rosa and by a ring. But if my love is in vain, I'll go to Ponte Vecchio (a bridge in Florence) and throw myself into a river. He isn't acting this role, he is just hitting the notes. In terms of a man - the role isn't written for a man. Sure, in operas sometimes there are male roles sung by women - they are called "trouser roles", but they are either roles in baroque operas that were originally written for "castrati" (he could've chosen one of them, that'd be fine) or they are boys' roles (e.g. pages) that are too difficult for real boys to sing so women sing them to emphasize the youth. Imagine "I feel pretty" from West-side story sung by a man. Or imagine "Old man river" from the Show Boat sung by a soprano.
@Uroboro_Djinn10 жыл бұрын
jewelmarkess I know the plot and, trust me, I was surprised too that he chose this specific part to sing. But in Ancient Greece and early Ancient Rome, female roles were also acted out by men. In narrations, a man or woman can narrate the entire thing on their own. I never let "what should have been"s get in the way of a good story...

What the hell is amazing about somebody playing dress-up to the lowest standards of quality. Meaning your beauty supplies cosmetics are made to the lowest standards of quality which is a major part in the diminished quality of life thanks to global pollution.
@danielb913 Жыл бұрын
@@jamesfiaco4922 that’s a pretty lousily formed opinion, I thought he was amazing, as well. How someone dresses or looks, might be different to you, but it doesn’t make it any lesser of a quality or change anything about who the person is. Judging isn’t cool, doubt he’d ever judge you 🤷♂️
@jamesfiaco4922 Жыл бұрын
@@danielb913 Without judgment progress cannot be made and I promise I made sure when I experienced my third death as a child I got the most intense judgment there was to be . And I said playing dress-up to the lowest standards of quality is a major part in global pollution. Your predetermined systematic response to life-and-death makes you overlook the fact that I was suggesting if one must play dress-up do so to the highest standards of quality which is all natural organic biodegradable non-genetically modified earth friendly.

Guys who looked like this when I was in school always gave me a hard time, so rejection comes very easily to me now. But when he began singing, and I don't say this easily, tears instantly jumped to my eyes. Thanks again for your thoughts, Aj.

Mine too. I think he was self teaching himself to sound like a soprano by listening to female singers do this opera piece. Whatever it may be , He has a shining voice.....Shame on him for HIDING it all this time. I really Like his voice. I wonder what other opera pieces he can do. he would be great in an opera band.. I wish him the best of luck because he deserves it. Saying he isn't good @ anything yet, boy did he underestimate himself.
