Gotha is the fifth-largest city in Thuringia, Germany, located 20 kilometres (12 miles) west of Erfurt and 25 km (16 miles) east of Eisenach with a population of 44,000. The city is the capital of the district of Gotha and was also a residence of the Ernestine Wettins from 1640 until the end of monarchy in Germany in 1918. Я служил в Заальфельде с 1965 по 1967 годы в 17 гв.тп (в/ч пп 35897). Наш полк перевели в 1964 году из Гты- так говорили т.н. "старики". Они так тосковали по Готе, им так нравилось там, а не в Заальфельде, чо они так и не привыкли к новому месту службы ( службы, а не проживания, вот что любопытно!). Очень расхваливали и город, и место службы.
