The way this scene is is flawless they're making small talk and then the moment he sees her face and says "Ms. Kringle?" Is heartbreaking to me and the the way he says it is exactly like how he says it in season one I honestly shed a tear when he said "Ms. Kringle"

I love how he says his name. It just shows his human side rather than his counterpart, The Riddler. Had Isabella stayed alive, then so would Edward. Not Riddler.

I actually hate how they handled Isabella as a whole. She quite literally barely has an identity outside of ‘I like riddles and look like your dead girlfriend’ and I hate it. She could’ve been so much more, a way for Ed to try and healthily cope with Kristens death but her looking exactly like Kristen makes it feel like Ed doesn’t value Kristen at all if he can just date some lady who looks exactly like her without questioning anything. Plus, Isabella has no self preservation, when she was told that Ed killed his girlfriend who looks the exact same she’s like “oh! but i love him i don’t care if he’ll probably kill me!” like.. if someone tells you your partner that you’ve been with for under a week murdered their previous partner who looks exactly like you you’d probably be like “hmmm.. maybe I shouldn’t be dating this person?” but they just needed to keep her there. Don’t even get me started on Isabella dressing up as Kristen. It shows how little substance she has as a character other than “I look like your dead girlfriend” and it just pisses me off. I understand that you can’t have shit in Gotham but my fucking god at least write it properly. And all that for what? Oswald to just get one of his goons to cut her brake lines? He didn’t even know she’d need to brake for the train?? It feels out of character, and it would’ve been a lot more in character for him to stab her out of jealousy. Like how Os would stab random people in season one? Like that. I feel like seeing Oswalds and Edwards interactions after him murdering Isabella like that would be a lot better than “fuck you you got someone to cut her brake lines” like??? Isabella could have been a great character but she was just handled horribly.

I expected some sort of twist but then realized I'm out thinking the writers. I'd have it come out Isabella really was Kristen who was a spy for The Court of Owls all along and they brought her back. She was in a perfect position to spy on the GCPD by handling all their paperwork. Even Nygma pointed out how fake her name sounded in the first scene they were in. "Kringle, such a rare surname. Most people changed it years ago out of embarrassment."
