As someone who likes the comics this has me really excited as these can be some really good scenarios in the comics where batman is supposedly dead (he probably isn't or he's coming back somehow he just needed to find something). It's just the people who don't really know stuff about the comics that won't understand what's going on story wise. The actual game side I'm not so sure about.

It's a wait and see but I am optimistic. I can't call this a cash grab as I know people have been asking for a Co-OP arkham style game since Arkham City. It may sound like a strange rating but in terms of it's potential I'll rate it a 2017 Anthem E3 trailer. Now let's just hope it doesn't wind up like 2019s Anthem release

The other Arkham games had exp to get new abilities and moves so makes sense to keep that as long as they don’t add micro for “quick” progression it’s the same and Batman isn’t in the title, however keep up the good work man love the content

Yeah I think people forget this a lot. Just progressing through the game you could become OP asf especially if you played the side missions through, it was a cake walk. The only scary thing is if they add micro transactions and make the game too gear/loot focused. Other than that, I'm sold. Hope they do listen to the criticism the fans are giving and adjust accordingly!

My main concern is the fight mechanics. This game looks different in a variety of ways. I smell a multi button combo and counter system. I wasn't even paying attention to the level system that is a bummer.

this is my theory of the direction of dc games: wb mont was going to do a Damian Wayne game which was supposed to be a sequel to knight but it got canceled and the reason behind it I think is two 1. Rocksteady started making a suicide squad game and wanted it to be a continuation to knight so Montreal had to shift gears into a new project 2. Wb probably wasn’t satisfied with the game and forced Montreal to cancel the game and do a multiplayer instead just like the situation with rocksteady when they wanted to do a Superman game wb was not having it with single player games so they forced both devs to go into online co-op direction All in All I’m still looking forward to both of these games.

I’d like to point out after commenting on a few vids on gothem knight I’ve been saying this over and over all we are getting is a online co op game no single player story even tho people said there is a single player mode. And I keep asking myself how come people be ok with a game that’s not only ditched batman alltogether, ruined everything that made the Arkham games so special and never got us the Arkham knight sequel? Or even the origins sequel oh that’s right simply so they can force us to level grind and also so they can cash in on the online only craze. I’m being honest when I say this I do hope the game sells well and that people Will the enjoyment out of it I’m just speaking as a king tine Arkham fan I’m not buying it and I’m not sold in it

Well, it would seem you were very wrong. Seeing as based on what we know now the coop element plays even smaller role than originally expected. I had no doubt that the game is single player first with optional coop second, but now it looks like your coop partner doesn't even exist as far as the game is concerned. Yeah they will have banter dialogue in gameplay, but the story will only acknowledge the host Oh yeah also fully level scaled. So there is no grind involved

Basically give opt to turn off lvl and dmg numbers....also the levels should be based on u not the area....like if I am level 1 then everyone is 1 and if I am 50 every one is 50 ....that way the replay value is high bcz when I am at a higher level with all gadgets skills and move sets the enemy also hits just as hard as me and has more moves and attack types ...that way u have a level system while kinda not having one 🤔

@Swapnil Kale oh that's fantastic...I must have misheard if they said it in the gameplay vid...now all they need to do is reduce hud elements (health bars and dmg numbers), also I am not a big fan of how their weapons glow it breaks the immersion for me Batman games are supposed to be more like attacking from shadows and using darkness not fight with glow sticks.....that's why the excessive use of "bat tank" made Arkham knight the least popular game in Arkham series

There is no Batman in the title, also the reason why theres no split screen co-op is because the game would most likely not be able to handle 2 screens at once, like the console most likely wouldn't be able to render the 2 perspectives at once without a significant drop in graphics. It has RPG elements, so what? Personally, sure it might be an issue if the levelling isn't fast enough and you have to do a tonne of side missions to progress in the story, if anything it just adds a little more longevity to the game, it gives people incentive to keep playing, Arkham knight had skill points too. Don't get me wrong, I'm still skeptical about this game too, but some of the criticisms in this video are just not valid

This Game may be the gravest disappointment since the reveal that Fallout 76 was going to be an online game. What I was hoping for was a Prequel in the Arkhamverse with the addition of RPG-Elements, not an Avengers rip-off that feels like a mobile game. This is just another unnecessary co-op cash grab that they will monetize heavily. Why on earth they thought it was a good idea to move away from the Arkham-Formula, downgrade the fight-system and the esthetics of the Arkhamverse, topped off by the epitome of stupidity, the idea to remove Batman and give him a weak off-screen death. My disappointment was immeasurable and my day was ruined.

Even in a pre alfa you can see the creative direction a project is taking. Art style doesn't look good at all but I guess it's more Montreal's style. The cinematography, music sound and look horrific. Miles from the masterstroke of the other games

A Batman game without Batman. Seriously?? You are gonna do my boy Bruce like that?? The mechanics have devolved. It's a *****ty cash grab. The focus is on coop. The characters look like fortnite characters. The game is RPG instead of action adventure!!! Combat system is inferior to previous games. Different doesn't mean good always. Is this what people like?? Yeah I won't buy this game. I won't even pirate this trash! After a masterpiece like Arkham Knight, this piece of trash?? Arkham Knight is literally the best game I have ever played. Every gameplay element from previous Arkham games elevated to perfection and then some. Arkham Knight's combat is an industry class melee based combat system with a lot of permutations and combinations. I challenge anyone to complete the game by spamming a triangle. It's impossible. Do you know why?? Because there are different enemy types. There's an enemy with shields, enemies with electric batons, enemies with electricity running through their body, enemies with knife, medics brutes etc. and all these enemies require a specific move set to defeat them. Also, contrary to what a lot of people said, Batmobile is just 20-25 percent of the whole game and not 50 percent. People who claim tank combat is 50 percent suck at math. There are videos on KZbin that confirm this. The story is literally awesome. Give me a Batman story where Batman is trying to resolve his personal struggle over a court of owls story anyday. Arkham knight was also much darker and grittier than any other game. The ending felt so satisfying. People thought Batman died a heroic death and the way Batman conquered his fears at the end. And I am so glad that focus wasn't on the Batfamily but Batman. After all, the tagline of the game was "Be the Batman" not "Be the Batfamily".
