12:15 ...I love this finally being pointed out. What Eric Rosen teaches is the Stafford Gambit, which this was not. The Stafford is 3) NxE5, NC6 4) NxC6, DxC6, which did not happen here. This is another line in the Petrov. Yes, Rosen has shown this in a couple of his Stafford videos as an example of a line that *could* happen, but the videos were primarily about a different line. That said...if you are new to chess or relatively lower rated, don't watch a video on an opening line and just memorize the moves for that one particular line. If you do this, as soon as your opponent makes a move outside of that line, you probably won't have the ability to adjust over the board and come out in a winning position. I'm not saying don't watch videos, and I'm not saying don't memorize theory...my point is that if you're going to memorize theory, you need to memorize all of the most likely lines, not just the one you like the most and hope for. The position is always going to be determined as much by your opponent as it is by you. Instead of trying to memorize tricky or dubious openings at the lower levels, you should just work on the opening principles and try to get a solid position. It's far more important to know *why* you're making the moves than it is to know which moves to play. Save the trickier and sharper lines for later, when you've got enough experience to be playing them. I'm not sayin'...I'm just sayin'. Also...another great video, Mr. Rozman. Keep up the good work and keep the quality content coming. Thank you for your contributions to the chess community. 👏👏👏

As much as I love this format and am thankful for this video. I would urge you do not play your subscribers and instead challenge randoms please hear me out. Your subscribers know who you are and they know you're an IM, This means they are more susceptible to feeling nervous as they're being watched and they're playing a high rated player, This means a higher chance of blunders and there is even a chance that someone has made a smurf account just to play you. This creates an unrealistic scenario for a normal person trying to go up the ladder and does not simulate the games we will be playing very accurately. I am not saying that the way you've set this up is completely unreliable but it does add that barrier if you're trying to simulate a true climbing the rating ladder video. Now whether you continue to play with this format of vsing Subscribers or fans I will continue to watch nonetheless. But I know that I need to take into account everything I've mentioned and so do your audience watching this on KZbin.

After knight g7, queen to e7 stopped the mate at the cost of all his pieces. If Levy stuck to his plan, knight e6 was no where near winning and would just wind up in a queen trade with black ahead in material but terrible position. Granted I had the pleasure to pause and look on KZbin and not watching a live stream. But the real highlight is the string of "Oh no!" that came from this position. I found your instructions very easy to follow. I learn something or the other every time I watch your video. This is good because even after playing many games and repeating the same mistakes I don't seem to learn anything from my own game. I guess that is the reason studying chess has its advantages. At different stages of our journey different things help. I used to think that maybe just playing is the best way to learn, but found out this is untrue. If we study theory it has its benefits, if we solve puzzles it has different benefits, if we learn endgame with limited pieces it has different benefits, and so on. Your instructive videos the one with London System opening and this one with e4 has helped to start my game correctly without doing any drastic mistake and get into the middle game. Nowadays I actually feel like I am playing and using something I learnt. Before I used to feel like I am only moving pieces. Thanks for your free content. I support you with what I am capable of.

Suggestion-when you introduce player's ranking(i.e.800), ask the source as well. Example: Richard King(900--FIDE). Suzy Parker(1000-USCF), Juan Perez(1250-chess.com). Any source(organization, site/app). It will help explain the various performances in the videos.

Top 3 chess non-tutorial content: 1. Rating climbs with descriptive commentary 2. Blitz game marathons with descriptive commentary (a good speed to actually have a grasp on what's happening while not being so slow I fall asleep) 3. Sub wars (reactions alone are worth, even better when you break down what they're doing wrong)
