My theory is that the chess boom of last year raised the bar for everyone in the beginner-intermediate level. Your content has made it so that people rated 800 are playing 1200 -level chess, but by playing other 800s with similarly high abilities, rankings don't fluctuate to reflect improvement. It feels it was easier to reach 1200 in blitz a couple of years ago than it is now.

@@Chodor101 I'd say 900 or 800 is where you become an amateur at chess, rather than beginner. You know that attacking things is useful, but don't consider repercussions of careless play. But I could be talking out of my ass here. Levy can try to justify the moves by explaining why it's a good move, but if the follow up isn't what he thinks, he'll have to sort of figure out what strength a player has who would have a subpar or different plan.
@D4n213 жыл бұрын
Does Gotham not realize how much of a difference 3 minutes it vs like 10 minutes??? At this level you can get games with really bad accuracy because they're blitzing out moved without thinking. Then when you switch to 10 minutes you get 90+ %accuracy, especially. This guess the ELO should REALLY include knowing the time format upfront, there's a solid 200 rating point difference from 3 min to 10 min games

look, people who are like 500 - 800 elo are pretty underrated honestly because they aren't as bad anymore. Since people always improve at chess, a random 600 rated player 2 years ago is worse than a random 600 rated player now

Game 1 and we already have the return of the dreaded “rook b1”. Let us pray, fellow Gothamites, that we do not see it any more. Edit: Oh my god, it returned in game two

Mandarin is super easy to learn it’s just some lines that change depending on what you want to say the tones are also super easy just talk a bit differently

Just some really weird elo guesses. You said things like “they played the moves I would play” then guessed 600? 🤔
@stephenc.43193 жыл бұрын
He's gotten loads of guesses wrong in the old episodes because he based it on how the winning player played, so he would have swapped strategy to basing it more on the losing player.
