This is awesome. As someone who only has a very basic understanding of the game but still likes it, this was explained so that even I could understand it

It's encouraging to see the young prodigy back in the competition so soon. However, Gukesh isn't fully capitalizing on square control, while Ding is doing so effectively. Strong square control often leads to prophylactic moves, which both players are currently avoiding.

Ik you meant 2023, but now I’m thinking of baby Arjun playing a scowling Kramnik while crawling on the board to grab a piece and probably try to eat it. Was he even born by August of 2003?

At 8:32, Levy says “Unfortunately for Ding this pawn doesn’t need to be defended.” (Referring to the pawn on b3). As a 730 elo noob I don’t understand this. To me it looks like that pawn is just hanging and it also looks like the bishop isn’t protecting any of Ding’s pieces. Why wouldn’t he just take that pawn? I’m sure I’m missing something, probably something obvious, but I can’t see it. Anyone?
