@fisheatsyourhead
@fisheatsyourhead 3 жыл бұрын
yeah accuracy is a bit weird when there's only a few poor moves even if they're game losing ones. Especially for long games, you can blunder several times and get 90+% if most other moves were the top engine ones
@idonoy661

Danger levels is not just a Zwischenzug. A Zwischenzug is something you throw in with the idea of addressing the original threat next. Danger levels is more broad, not needing to address the original threat all the time.
@thepr0niki
@thepr0niki 3 жыл бұрын
It is the same, but you are just too stubborn to accept it. There is no formal definition of danger levels so you say anything and argue with everybody. And even those two sentences you presented mean the same. All what Gotham did is used a concept of zwischenzug and presented it in more practical way so people can see this pattern more often, and I can agree that what he did is great because beginner players can be very confused with the classical term and it's even in German.
@Ggg-lj5zz
@Ggg-lj5zz 3 жыл бұрын
Zwischenzug means somthing like "move in between". At least in the german community, a Zwischenzug can be any move, that you play and isn't connected to your main Idea. For example, if you have a thread build up and then you attack your opponents queen, which isn't connected to your thread, but gives you a better position, so you continue with your thread after.
@iwersonsch5131
@iwersonsch5131 3 жыл бұрын
@@Ggg-lj5zz Yes, "zwischen" means "in-between". So from my understanding as a German, it means a move that you play _before_ addressing the original threat, still planning to address it eventually
@Ggg-lj5zz
@Ggg-lj5zz 3 жыл бұрын
@@iwersonsch5131 That's right, you do it in between some other moves. I never argued with your statement, only with the other guy. Zwichenzug and "Dangerlevels" are similar, but not the same, especially, because dangerlevels are more of a state in the game, while a Zwischenzug is an active move.

Since I see your videos I enjoy chess much more than before, I also play much better, specially the opening phase. Your videos and the way you talk are both entertaining and pedagogic, and that is really difficult to find. That is why this channel is definitely the best for begginer-intermediate level, you are capable of keep the atention and interest while explaining different openings, games, theory... and for somebody that is just a 1000~1500 elo player, is really boring and difficult to read theory books and don't get bored in 5 minutes, that's why I think this channel is doing something incredibly hard, making me and other low-level players to grow their chess skills while having a great time.

Can someone explain what are the differences between inaccuracy, mistake and blunder ? is it just how bad it is on a kind of computer scale, or is it something else ??
@Midnightwards666

The only difference is the gravity of the error.

In a way. Inaccuracy means the move isn't wrong, but isn't a good move for what the situation is. Mistake means anywhere between the wrong move for the situation, to the worst move the engine has available, but is still "reasonable". A blunder is a downright failure, like throwing your queen in front of the othrr queen without a way to capture, something the engine won't even be assuming you'll be thinking of

I’ll try. An inaccuracy is basically a move that’s not necessarily bad, but there was something better, the “correct” move. A mistake is a move that doesn’t lose for you on the spot, but gives you a not-so-comfortable or losing position. A blunder is a move either leading to a losing or completely losing position. I might be wrong on some parts, since this is just my understanding, but hopefully someone more experienced can be a bit more precise.

Usually Blunders are when you let them mate you or win a lot of material for free, mistakes are when you lose a pawn, let the opponent keep a pawn, make your position worse or lose a piece for compensation, and inaccuracies are when you make a move that makes your position worse slightly. These are only what I've picked up on, definitely just a rule of thumb

@@jamiehickey4808 ok, so it is some kind of a scale 🧐. Thank you very much. So at my level (~1000 blitz and ~1100 rapid), I shouldn’t consider that inaccuracies are that bad, it should improve by itself with experience. Mistakes and blunder, those are things to review to make sure it won’t happen again. Thank you once again Winter The Viking 🙏
