Lichess and CDC's rating systems have the same range, which starts at 0 and has no upper bound, what differs between them is the distribution. A a range is what values you can get, a distribution is the set of probabilities of getting any given value. Both chess server's distributions are bell curves, but Lichess peaks at 1500 by design, while CDC peaks at like 1000, I think.

it's worth noting that, while I agree Glicko2 is a much more advanced system and I greatly prefer it, Elo is what FIDE uses so it's understandable for a chess site to choose to use it imo
@shambhav95342 жыл бұрын
@@duncathan_salt That is also very true. But chess sites do suffer much more from variance in performance than otb. So at least, there should be a primitive way to account for that. Still, using ELO is totally understandable as it is the standard. Chescom always seems the most conservative chess site out of the lot, while Lichess is always doing fancy stuff. @@thebandoftwocretins4406 hi there!! I'm 1370 now First you need 1 opening with white and 2 openings with black (1 against e4 and 1 against d4) Second you need to play consistently and analyze your games to pinpoint exactly where things went wrong or if you missed something and since you are playing the same openings it'll be much easier to avoid the mistakes you made in Previous games. Thirdly solve at least 3-8 puzzles a day and only play rapid formats (10-20 minutes) so you take your time to understand the position before deciding on a move. This is enough to get you to 1500 rating. Good luck in your journey.

as a smoker I think it’s important to be honest about it and not just say it’s bad don’t do it… it’s fucking horrible and you shouldn’t but there is a reason why people do it anyways, we all know it’s killing us and we still do it for a reason. The reason people get addicted is because when they first try it, they get a crazy head rush, most people really fucking enjoy it and it spirals from there in many different ways, do not ever give it the first try, the head rush is fun but it not worth it, the head rushes go away quickly and all you’re left with is massive anxiety that can only be curbed by nicotine…. If you think you’re strong and can stay away, just try it once to see what it’s about and never try it again, you might be right you might be wrong, only way to totally avoid it is to never try it. I would say you should try most things in life just for the life experience, but nicotine is not one of those things.
