You'll love the Lichess analysis by the way. They even have an alpha feature to let you run an external, non browser based, natively run (much faster) stockfish for analysing. I've tried it, and it works like a charm. The actual browser based stockfish is also much better, even the sever stockfish is better and up-to date. Lichess also has fantastic features for analysing your past games.

Lichess and CDC's rating systems have the same range, which starts at 0 and has no upper bound, what differs between them is the distribution. A a range is what values you can get, a distribution is the set of probabilities of getting any given value. Both chess server's distributions are bell curves, but Lichess peaks at 1500 by design, while CDC peaks at like 1000, I think.

Have you ever played the Sandbaggie Gambit it is truly a wholesome opening. You play 1 e4 then Qh5 no matter what black's first move is, even to nf6...and then you sac on f7 with the queen and then beat the player up for fun...and then resign a won position. Its great. Then you play in tournaments online for money without the gambit...it is truly a gambit of grade.

@shambhav9534
@shambhav9534 2 жыл бұрын
@@duncathan_salt That is also very true. But chess sites do suffer much more from variance in performance than otb. So at least, there should be a primitive way to account for that. Still, using ELO is totally understandable as it is the standard. Chescom always seems the most conservative chess site out of the lot, while Lichess is always doing fancy stuff. Both ideologies are okay, no matter which one you prefer.

@@thebandoftwocretins4406 hi there!! I'm 1370 now First you need 1 opening with white and 2 openings with black (1 against e4 and 1 against d4) Second you need to play consistently and analyze your games to pinpoint exactly where things went wrong or if you missed something and since you are playing the same openings it'll be much easier to avoid the mistakes you made in Previous games. Thirdly solve at least 3-8 puzzles a day and only play rapid formats (10-20 minutes) so you take your time to understand the position before deciding on a move. This is enough to get you to 1500 rating. Good luck in your journey.

I love how you talk about the Caro Kann. I play “real chess” on LiChess. Meaning I care about my rating on it. Anyway using your Caro course, I worked my way up to a level I’m proud of for me using it. Moreover, I beat a significantly higher rated player using some advice from it. I did not have the course open while playing. It was supposed to be a correspondent game, but we finished it in a few hours. I’d like to send it to you, and if you like it, and if you do another LiChess GTE, would you consider using it? I attribute the win to your course. So even if you don’t want to use it, consider this a huge thank you for your course.

as a smoker I think it’s important to be honest about it and not just say it’s bad don’t do it… it’s fucking horrible and you shouldn’t but there is a reason why people do it anyways, we all know it’s killing us and we still do it for a reason. The reason people get addicted is because when they first try it, they get a crazy head rush, most people really fucking enjoy it and it spirals from there in many different ways, do not ever give it the first try, the head rush is fun but it not worth it, the head rushes go away quickly and all you’re left with is massive anxiety that can only be curbed by nicotine…. If you think you’re strong and can stay away, just try it once to see what it’s about and never try it again, you might be right you might be wrong, only way to totally avoid it is to never try it. I would say you should try most things in life just for the life experience, but nicotine is not one of those things.

Gotham, it’s hard to quit nic when you’ve been heavily addicted for years. Telling people like that to not smoke because it’s bad for them is like telling a 600 elo player not to hang mate in 1
@krananas

So it’s that easy?????
@st31928
@st31928 2 жыл бұрын
not for everyone, I quit after smoking 20+ for almost 10 years. I just dumped everything and suffered for a week then it slowly got better. You need a really good motivation to do it though and people around you that can help you ease up the process. In the end, it's worth it.

@@krananas smh. nah you tell them to not hang mate and they do it anyways. You tell a smoker to stop smoking because it’s bad for them they smoke anyways.

@@venomous7321 well it is still better than not telling them not to stop, in the absolute worst case scenario you get the same end result and in 1/100000000 cases of it helps
