This song was a favorite of my grandfather, Abraham Lehman. He taught Sunday School in German for over 50 years at the First Menonite Church, Berne, Indiana. He was the most godly man I have known. After listening to the lyrics you have heard all you need to be saved. Repent of your sin and ask Jesus to save you. He said He would if you truly believe and ask. I am now 81 years old and soon will see grandpa again in Heaven ( after I see Jesus).

AMEN.. YES that is right..we need to be saved to enter in heaven..and we only can be saved through Jesus Christ...

As a very young child, that was the first song I learned in our German Sunday School. Back in the 1940s when our Amish Mennonite church was still speaking and preaching German … America.
