Yo Thomas! Goede hoop, Erculano, ... Allemaal bekende lichters! Ik werk in de haven van Antwerpen in de kraan en wij lossen en laden de ICL containers die jij ook behandeld. Tof om te zien hoe een collega-kraanman de job doet! Sterk bezig, doe zo verder man!

+Joris Cleiren hey Joris, Liebherr is wel een zalig kraantje he!! Is super direct en heel precies. Spijtig dat we zo geene nieuwe hebben staan! Daarmee heb ik leren werken in 2007. Ideaal zou zijn dat er bij ons nog een 100ton kraan zou bijkomen In de plaats van diene 70tonner da we hebben staan. De meeste containers op onze kaai wegen tussen de 20 en de 30ton. Gottwald werkt altijd met een beetje vertraging omdat er meer elektro aan te pas komt. Maar het went wel :-)

Have any of you tried learning to operate a Mobile Harbour Crane through the use of a simulator? I know that OCHA in Antwerpen has both a Gottwald HMK 360E simulator and a LHM Liebherr 600 simulator. I am curious as to how effective those simulators are for training.

I never had a training in a crane simulator, always in real live :-) Now 14year working with Gottwald hmk 170 and hmk 300 i will put new video online today ;-)

Thomas Amazing skills..can u tell me which joystick index finger button controls which rotation direction? Meaning is a clockwise rotation on the left joystick and anti clockwise on the right? Thanks man

Yow Rick,thanx man! 👍 If I use the richt stick button the spreader go anti clockwise! Now I work in Antwerp @ the docks and here it is the opposite 😬

is the spreader locked in that pos , or do you have adjustment to swing and turn ??

That type of hook rotates hydraulically. It's operated by buttons in the index finger area of the left and right sticks. If their Gottwald is set up like ours, it has three selectable modes. 1)freely rotating unless you hold down the green button on the left stick to lock it, 2)locked stationary unless you hold down the green button on the left stick to release it, 3) Click to lock - click to unlock - like an ink pen. Gottwald does offer an automated "point to point" system which automates swing and luffing control with an option to automatically control the rotation of the hook rotator. They have around 10 different configurations you can get, but it gets expensive and most operators don't want to use those types of systems.

If you sit every dat in the crane ,and you have a good feeling with handeling big machines. After one year you have the crane completely onder Control ;-) You need much patience and nerveus control :-) Being verry careful in the boot and on the Dock is a art! Its not deficult to slam the containers on the ground! Grtz Thomas

I was drawn to this video because I went up in one similar on a tour at the Kingston Wharf in Jamaica and had a hands on with some of its operations, crane and other such equipment operators like myself a forklift and tractor trailer operator love the challenge with these machines..
