A few years back there was almost nothing on KZbin in gouache. Now there are some REALLY beautiful works. And this is certainly one of them. Nice job!

Hola Jonathan.

Wow what a beautiful use of multiple media, love the combo of the soft airbrush with the super detailed portions of your poster colors. Truly amazing, it goes to show that getting bogged down in detail too early is not as effective in providing depth in a painting. Love how u went about your painting in multiple stages, starting with the background loosely and blocking in areas of color and working forward towards more and more detail. Wonderful, I absolutely love the finished painting.

I've been watching lots of videos to try to learn watercolor and gouache, and this is my favorite. The way you create light in this painting is just magical.

IMPRESSIVE!!!!! Very nice, what amazes me the most though is not the beauty of the picture but the patience at work and the ability to focus on details up until the work is perfected!

i'm speechless, i don't have the right words. the background tune is really fitting for the painting process...It was lovely to watch and its a beautiful painting

Amazing, I love your work. I could just sit and watch all day. I never had any lessons. I painted a little and done a few murals until my back surgery. Now I bake cakes and paint on those. I wish I had your insight and ability, because I miss it so much. Thank you for sharing your beautiful work. Have a bless day. Kim

+Kimberly Greene Kimberly, you can be as great as him :) Buy a few brushes, some nice paint, and just have fun and experiment with layers and effects. In the start, your paintings will look like crap*, but its ok because its fun. then after a few weeks you'll notice sometimes magic happening on your paper and you'll think "wait, did I really do that?" ... then eventually you'll create stuff that makes other people's eyes grow big and they will say: "Omg I love it! I wish I had your insight and ability!" * Im not saying they actually will, but usually our own inner critic will be the worst. It sounds like you already know how to paint, so in order to get better you just need to rediscover the excitement for painting :)

wow, that was a great video, so great to see the whole process, and I always wondered how one might get the effect of the sunlight coming from behind the trees, with an air brush, very cool. And then repainting over the things that are in the shadowed foreground. You're a genius. :) Thanks for sharing. I guess I'll start saving up for an air brush...

I love this video I have watched many many videos in the last couple of days on "Sun rays" through the forest... and all of them just shoot the shadow behind the trees Straight Out ... not in the correct angle like you did in a "Burst" of light.!!! "Bravo" I love your picture... Thank you for sharing this... I lived in the forest for 21 years... I know what they should look like when the Sun is Shining through the trees... ;)
