i just got these and i LOVE them...but i can’t use my fountain pens on top of them? the ink gets caught somehow and then the pens stop working. it’s such a disappointment! any ideas what could be causing it/how to fix it?

Try a fountain pen with a broader nib. A fine nib can get stuck. Drawing with a fountain pen on top of a layer of gouache stick isn’t ideal because the surface can be kind of greasy and slippery. Instead you could use a sharpie for example.

@@amyqi2205 Hi! I happened to see your comment, and thought I'd reply, since I'm also from Canada. Unfortunately, I couldn't find it in stores, so I was stuck with buying them from Amazon (Canada). Now, I'm not 110% sure if there's a difference, but the ones I got were called tempera paint sticks, or sometimes just paint sticks, and not gouache sticks. The ones I got are meant for kids. They seem to be the exact same thing from any other video I've seen that call them gouache sticks, so I think they're all the same thing. As for the brand, since they're for kids, they all seem to be the same product, just with a different company name slapped on the box, so get whichever set suits you. I got ones from 2 different brands, and the packaging and quality are identical, lol. There are also more expensive ones by Faber-Castell, that are artists grade, if you prefer that. I only recommend getting those if you're after specific colours, or worry about light-fastness, because they're a lot more expensive and a lot harder to find. Sorry for the long comment lol. But I hope this helps!
