I purchased a Visconti Special Ops and I love the design of the pen. With its black nib it will never give away my position to the neighborhood sniper as I lay buried in grass cuttings, writing poetry. But I have a question about the nib. It's not especially smooth or wet. It writes a bit and then dries out. I'm using the ink cartridge that came with it. Is that typical of that nib (a medium)? Is there anything I can do to improve it's characteristics. It feels like it's a victim of the black coating, maybe. Any thoughts? Thanks.
@Gouletpens8 жыл бұрын
Yeah, we've noticed some issues tied to the black-coated Visconti nibs. Sounds like what you're describing. The other Rembrandts haven't had this issue. You may want to reach out to our returns department (returns@gouletpens.com) and they can help you out further from there. - Colin

Marty, I just got the Khaki, and when I held it up my wife said I disappeared. This is obviously an excellent alternative to the One Ring if you don't have one laying about.

Is wet because of the nib or because of Noodler's ink?

Hi thanks for the informative video! I'm interested to get one of the rembrandt. Still figuring out what colour is the best for me. I have a question does the chromed stainless section leaves finger prints? I'm experienced of the annoying smudges on the chromed stainless steel section of Montegrappa Espressione. Will the Rembdrand section attract smudges? Thanks for the answer!
@Gouletpens6 жыл бұрын
Especially with those that having oily skin, it does leave some finger prints. Think that's probably the case with all grip sections like that. That said, a polishing cloth can keep it looking nice & shiny: www.gouletpens.com/products/goulet-polishing-cloth?variant=11884650659883 - Colin

Hi Brian & crew, just went to the SF Pen Show this past weekend and saw a Visconti Merry Go Round pen. I should have purchased it (it was a ball point) but wanted to see if I could find a fountain pen. Any idea's where I might find one (not eBay) of a reputable reseller? I'd even purchase it used, just want it to be a real Rembrandt. Thanks! Lisa

I'd say our best bet is the Pen Swap subreddit (www.reddit.com/r/Pen_Swap/ ) to find one second-hand. Haven't used it personally, but have heard of many successes in finding specific pens. - Colin

Would using a long cartridge damage the pen in any way when it gets jammed in the back? I have a couple cartridges of Edelstein topaz I want to use up but don't have another pen to use them on.
@Gouletpens8 жыл бұрын
+Andrew B No, the long cartridge won’t damage the pen. It’ll just get stuck when taking it apart. One thing you could do is use an ink syringe on the long Edelstein cartridges you have and draw the ink out and put it into a converter. That way you can use the ink but not have any annoyances of the long cartridge. This isn’t exactly what you’ll need to do but it’ll give you an idea of how to use the ink syringe (kzbin.info/www/bejne/h53Sg4SNfcpofc0) - Colin

This review raises a question I haven't seen addressed yet. What pens do you recommend for "junky" papter? Love your reviews, your products, and your service.
@Gouletpens8 жыл бұрын
By 'junky' paper do you mean like cheaper, non-fountain pen friendly paper? If that's the case, the finer the nib the better. Not allowing too much ink on the paper can help prevent feathering and ghosting which that paper is prone to. Platinum or Pilot EF nibs would be the way to go. - Colin
@mvaron25468 жыл бұрын
That's right. I was using Brian's word from his review of the Visconti Rembrandt in reference to the fact that even the fine nib on that line of pens behaves more like a European medium. Does ink also matter? It might be an interesting brief topic for one of his Q&A sessions. Thanks a bunch. I've been intending to purchase a Japanese pen with an F or EF nib to add to my collection, but I got sidetracked by a Visconti Special Ops model on sale. Thanks for your information. ]
