Clinging to the top of a dizzying cliff at an altitude of 760 m, Gourdon is a balcony opening onto the Gorges du Loup and the Mediterranean. Massed behind an imposing castle surrounded by gardens designed by Le Nôtre, the old houses have been well preserved and restored in this lively village brought to life by artisans.
Inclusion in "Les Plus Beaux Villages de France": Gourdon is one of the most beautiful villages in France and is part of the prestigious association "Les Plus Beaux Villages de France" (Most Beautiful Villages in France).
Spectacular geographical position: The village is located on a rocky promontory in the Alpes-Maritimes region, offering impressive panoramic views of the Loup Valley and the Mediterranean Sea.

If you like this village you must see “The Green Glove” a 50’s noir/WWII film starring Glenn Ford. The story revolves around a relic taken from the church in Gordon during the war. Much of the village is shown in the film. After researching the film I found that it was filmed in Gourdon, and the village was added to my bucket list. Little has changed!
