GOURMET ESCAPES-THE COOK ISLANDS

This is a dream destination in the South Pacific. Chef Gerardo D’Amore visits two tropical islands where the menu features anything that comes from the ocean. Although he tries to catch the ingredients he ends-up getting a sun burn instead. His solution, visiting a local market and counting on his new chef friends to help him out. Three local chefs help him understand the Island style cooking and flavors, food in a modern style and the traditional style. Gerardo's skills are tested when he is brought on stage to perform the Ura dance....does he succeed, you be the judge? He really was in D'Amore with The Cook Islands.

Gerardo! You're killing me with some of your shirts! Hotel employees and others in the tourist industry in the Cooks and French Polynesia seem to have dynamite Polynesian shirts, but I've torn up the 'net and cannot find them. Where did you find yours? Thanks.

Hey Nat, picked them up in the tourism stores and markets in the Cooks. They are very hard to find outside of these beautiful islands....The designs are representative of certain aspects of the island ,culture or heritage, somewhat like a tattoo...glad you like them and hope you find your style that represents the place you visited...Cheers
