Warren Haynes is one of the most generous and thoughtful artist in rock and roll today. He always gives his best, and he is never afraid to share the spotlight with other great artists. In fact, he is always very humble and wants to give credit to other first. No wonder everyone wants to play on stage with him. Seen him a lot of times, hope I see him a bunch more.

Yeah. When I saw Govt. Mule, he came out and did a song with the local opening band. Maybe he does stuff like this all the time, but I was bowled over. You could see they both were enjoying it.

Love the high harmony vocals. Hard to get up over Neil, but not so with Warren. :) This makes me think of Danny Whitten, who used to come in over Neil at times back in the sweet day. Danny was that "whooo-oo" you hear in the background of Cinnamon Girl as the song starts to fly around the solo.

For those who don't know, Neil Young wrote "Tonight's the Night" about his roadie, Mr. Bruce Berry who died on June 4, 1973, of a drug overdose. The lyrics are true, he really did load all their gear into his own Ford Econoline van. Danny Whitten (of Neil's band, Crazy Horse) had turned Bruce on to heroin while in England working for Stephen Stills and when he came back to the states he was a different person. Sadly, Bruce died just a few months after Danny himself met the same fate, to the same mix of heroin and cocaine. Also of note, the album cover for "Tonight's the Night" is the t-shirt that Ronnie Van Zant used to wear after Neil and the Boys in Skynrd made nice after the "Southern Man/Sweet Home Alabama" back and forth.

You should have heard him with Blues Co-op back in the late 1980's. He was the sharpest vocalist-- utterly fantastic.-- Co-op also played R&B, sixties Soul, etc. Has this side of Warren made its way to the Mule? He, early on in his career, played guitar with David Allen Coe. I know he's done a ton of studio work also by virtue of his fine chops.

Hope all survived the Celebrations of awakening "2022"...all 2's, Angel stuffz! Love, LOVE dancing to "Cinnamon Girl"!! @granthurlburt40623 жыл бұрын
Ha-ha! Probably right. "That's my style, man". When Neil participated in the Canadian version of Band Aid, it took him about 100 takes to sing his one line (and that's what he said). Whereas Anne Murray got it in one take. "That's it" she said after singing her line. She sang it again at their request but she was right. Still, it is amazing how good Neil sounds compared to far more competent guitarists due to his feel or something.
