How much did that cost us taxpayers spending out of control and tax on everything
@Point_Particle9 ай бұрын
What is MN spending on? I've noticed your property taxes were hiked a year or two ago, but if you want nice things, and kids that aren't dead last in education, That costs money. I'm in a state that spends billions on political stunts, while our property values and educational standards sink below the national average. I'd certainly be happy to pay more in taxes if my state spent it on things that actually helped all boats rise for every household.

How is MN on a steady decline? As an outsider looking in from another state, MN seems to be doing fairly well.
@truefact44398 ай бұрын
@Point_Particle Thanks for asking. Minnesota 15 years ago , was clean , safe , beutiful. Every year it gets more graffiti , litter, properties not being kept up. The main problem is people moving in from other states and 3rd world countries. Violence and car jacking is rampant. The police stood down and let rioters burn the city. Cops don't enforce anything. Our welfare attracts people is a big issue.

@@truefact4439 well, I don't want to discount your woes, but that's literally the same thing happening in almost every state, red or blue. I'm in Texas, in one of the largest metro areas. We've taken in more people than any other city in all 50 states (and I mean U.S. citizens from other states - not immigrants from outside the country), attracted by the low-ish taxes and "affordable housing." [affordable housing = real estate worth less than everyone else's] Anyway, same thing is going on here, despite this state being a far-right stronghold. The conditions for this were exacerbated by the pandemic, and I don't really know what is the correct way to resolve it. There are those happy to live in a police state, who would feed the privatized prison industry by throwing everyone in jail...which would cost taxpayers money. And every alternative is a community outreach program/welfare program...which would cost taxpayers money. I feel like if we can continue to nurse the economy back to health, and continue investing in all schools (not just the ones for the Edina/Macalester-Groveland kind of suburbs), then things will gradually improve. Statistics bear this out. Minneapolis/St Paul crime stats are in lock-step with the area I'm in. Luckily, violent crime is plummeting all across the U.S. Things are getting better, but we've still got a ways to go.
@truefact44398 ай бұрын
@@Point_Particle Violent crime is plummeting? That's not true. Investing in schools is not the solution. Not when the schools are teaching children that humans have 74 genders. And all that kind of nonsense.

I pay alot in taxes I don't mind my money being invested in our youths and infrastructure. What I don't like is giving big tax breaks to the millionaire and billionaire who don't need it. Thank you Tim and the democrats.
