Landscape governance entails decision-making processes of various stakeholders in the landscape that collectively manage and shape the landscape system. An inclusive approach to governing landscapes is a key component in achieving sustainable outcomes. But what exactly are landscapes? Are they just an assemblage of various vegetative and non-vegetative land uses? Where and when do humans come into the picture? How do we manage these landscapes and what are the crucial roles of the actors in a given landscape?
Sustainable development transcends traditional political and administrative boundaries as nature and culture become more highly entangled in an increasingly complex world. In this Understory webinar session, we will unpack landscape governance as a way forward in tackling community empowerment, forest conservation, and climate action.
